Chapter Twenty of 'The Boy In The Basement':

A divorce. He wants a divorce. Now, how do I feel about that? A part of me wants them to get a divorce. Another part of me wants them to stay together. Harry told me I felt that way because we had so many good family memories, and I don't want those to disperse from my head.

Even if they did go through with it, they'd want to know who I want to live with. Everyone knows my answer to that; I'd want to live with my Dad. I'd still want to live here so I can visit Harry. And, I've become very fond of this place. I don't want to leave just yet.

Harry and I were in my room, listening to the yelling of both Dad and Mom. I sat in the beanbag in the corner of my room and Harry sat at my desk chair, spinning around in it. I looked at him and grinned as he spun around a few more times. "Why are you such a kid?" I asked and shook my head.

Harry stopped spinning and turned around to face me. He had a serious look on his face. "I think the real question is: why aren't you such a kid?" he arched an eyebrow and continued spinning in the chair. I laughed and stood up.

"I am really bored, and getting tired of listening to my parents bickering." as if on cue, the yelling match started up again. Harry stopped spinning and looked at me. "Well, why don't you go call Miles?" he suggested.

There was no attitude in his tone, either, which surprised me. "I thought you hated him?" I asked. "Never stopped, why?" Harry asked. "Well, you were all jealous when I hung out with him and kissed him, and now you're suggesting that I call him up?" I looked at Harry, waiting for an answer.

"It's called sarcasm, you know. I don't want you hanging around him, and no, not because I am jealous, but because I am looking out for you." he said. I bit the inside of my cheek and thought for a moment.

If Harry was right about Mom hiding something from Dad and I, shouldn't I believe him about Miles being "dangerous"?

Yes, yes you should.

I shot him a look. "You know it's very annoying when you do that." Harry laughed. "Do what?" he asked dumbly. I rolled my eyes. "You know what. When I'm having a deep train in thought, you just pop in my head out of nowhere and tell me a piece of your mind."

What? Like this?

"Harry! You know what I mean!" I laughed and threw my hands up in the air. "So I put my hands up, they're playing my song and butterflies fly away!" Harry sang in a horrible girl voice. "How do you know that song? You died like 200 years ago." I asked.

It always got to me, because he knew the band 'Green Day' and some other popular bands. I mean, he is dead, how did he hear these bands? "There's something called listening to the radio, or going out, Alice." Harry told me.

I rolled my eyes. "I knew that." I lied. "Uh huh, sure you did!" Harry laughed. I looked at him with a smile stretched on my face. His hair was curled perfectly, and all of those amazing curls were placed at random, but were placed at the perfect spot on his head. Did that even make sense?

No, it didn't but thank you.

"Harry!" I laughed and slapped his arm. And my hand did not go through him. There was an actual sound of when I slapped him, and it took me by surprise. "Holy wow," I whispered. I slapped him again, but this time harder, and the same thing happened.

"Ow! You know, that actually hurts." Harry grabbed his arm and rubbed it. "You can feel things?" I asked and looked up at him. Harry looked at me and widened his eyes. "I-I guess so. That's strange. Never in 200 years have I felt pain." he whispered.

Then there before me was the boy that I first met in the basement. The quiet, shy boy. "Harry? Are you okay?" I asked and rubbed his bicep, which was very hard. I wonder if they ever worked out back then? Because my oh my, he has some muscles.

"It's just all new to me." he answered with a shy voice. He sighed, and so did I. "It'll be okay. There's nothing wrong with this." I assured him the best I could. Harry nodded and smiled. "You're right." he smiled. I smiled back, "I'm always right, where have you been?" I teased.

Harry rolled his eyes. "Yes, sure you. You have a big ego, you know that?" Harry laughed at me. I smiled. "Do not! It was called sarcasm." I stuck my tongue out at him and he smiled.

"It's been awhile since we had a dance party," Harry trailed on, and looked around my room. I furrowed my eyebrows, confused. We haven't had one dance party to begin with?

My point is made!

I looked at Harry and grinned. I walked over to my laptop, and began scrolling through my play-list. "So, what do you want to listen to first?" I asked. Harry walked over to me, and I felt the heat come off from his body.  No goosebumps were covering my skin when he was standing beside me, and a smile formed on my lips.

"Do you like Miley Cyrus?" asked Harry, as he scrolled down my play-list. I looked at him. "She's pretty cool, yes. I still find it very strange that you know all these popular artists." I laughed. Harry sighed and I heard him click on the mouse on the laptop, and he stood up.

"You're just going to have to live with these things, Alice." Harry smiled at me, showing off his dimples. I blushed, and turned away, trying to hide it.

Oh, my gosh! It's so obvious you're blushing, Ally!

"Stop!" I whined, and Harry only laughed. Music began playing, and this tune was all to familiar. I gasped and turned around to look at Harry. "Is this 'We Can' Stop'?" I asked, my mouth hanging wide open.

Close your mouth, babe. You might catch flies.

"Yes, it is." Harry grinned and began dancing horribly. I started laughing an dancing with him too. "To my home girls in with the big butts Shaking it like we at a strip club Remember only God can judge ya Forget the haters Cause somebody love ya!" Harry and I both sang.

We were laughing uncontrollably on the floor when a knock on my door was heard. We both froze and looked over at each other, panicked.
