Falling for the nerd is hard but falling for him only gets harder when it threatens to take away your status at the top of the social ladder.

No one would talk to me again. I saw Jane and Chloe at the mall on Saturday and I tried to talk to them but they openly ignored me, acting like I wasn't there at all. Shortly after I saw Cal and the twins, at least Cal gave me a nasty look but ignored me also.
I was starting to think if choosing Ace over my friends was a bad idea but then I remembered that it was a matter of choosing my friends coupled with my status and glory over what was right.
The news had spread round town, the videos and pictures were everywhere. From the brawl with my friends to when I kissed Ace, to Ace getting his jacket back from Cal till when we left the school.
People had different theories. Some said Ace's tattoos were fake, some said that wasn't the nerdy Ace and that I had gotten someone that looked like him to act.
Some called me stupid names, especially the wannabes who had always eyed my position as the school's queen bitch. Some supported me, saying I was right to do that, saying that Ace was human too and I had the right to like whoever I wanted.
I got stares from everywhere as I walked into school on Monday morning and my frown only turned to a smile when I saw Ace standing by my locker. He walked me to class that morning and with him I forgot what people were saying.
During lunch, I took my regular seat at the table and when my friends had walked into the café, they all glared at me, well, all except the twins. I felt like they were only ignoring me because Cal told them to. They took a different table.
Ace joined me and asked me why I was still sitting at that table, I told him that just because my friends and I had a fallout didn't mean I was still not the school's bitch. He laughed but we brushed it off, eating together.
A girl, Ayo an international student walked towards the table and asked if she could sit. I nodded yes and we got to talk. I recognized her from a few of my classes and the girl who always sat with Ace during lunch, apparently she supported Ace and I. She asked if she could be my friend since she didn't have any in the school, I gave her a smile and said yes.
The next day wasn't so bad, Ace walked Ayo and I to class that morning. The teacher didn't show up so Ayo told me a little more about herself. She's Nigerian and from the Yoruba tribe, she and her mum moved here from Nigeria a year ago when her dad died, it was a new start for them. She lived in Nigeria all her life so she told me stories of how life and high school over there was.
I was so intrigued with her stories and I marveled at the Nigerian culture, it was like exploring the world. I told her a little about myself too and when she asked me how Ace and I met and started dating, I told her. At least I was able to tell it to someone even if she was not my childhood friend.
