"I'll go with you to the outskirts of the kingdom, your highness!" Elena spoke with tears brimming in her eyes and Asher was also staring at her as if he was seeing something preposterous.

"You could not come with us, Lady Elena! The outskirts of the kingdom are dangerous!" He retorted back but the lady had already made up her mind the moment she saw Asher holding on to Pier with a begging look.

She could not be assured knowing the young master had changed and was completely capable of taking the prince from her.

"No! I will go with you! Please! I will not be a hindrance to his highness' purpose in going to the outskirts!" She begged and wept making Asher's face contort into a frown and a frustrated one.

The outskirts of the kingdom are where monsters usually roam near the walls. Not only that, there are many wanted criminals that are lurking there.

Though it is a dangerous place, it is still a part of the kingdom and there are also plenty of people living in the outskirts. Rations needed to be provided for them especially now that planting crops are no longer available due to the harsh season.

"Please... I swear I will be of help..." She cried while losing the strength on her knees and falling to the ground. Asher stared at the lady and he was groaning in dissatisfaction.

"Why are you doing this, my lady?" He asked as he crouched down beside her.

"I am worried!"

"Why are you worried?!" Even him was also confused with the lady's sudden antics.

"Because you are seeking the attention of the young master as if your life depended on it, your highness!" She admitted and bawled her eyes out even more.

Asher on the other hand was left speechless as he listened to the lady's reason.

"Everyday... every single day since the young master disappeared from the kingdom you are always trying to look for him..." Elena wiped the tears from her eyes and she sobbed a few times.

"Even when he returned, all you are searching for is the young master. You completely forgot about me!" She broke down. Her copper blonde hair that was neatly tied into a bun had lose strands on it as she became hysterical earlier.

There were so many things piling up in her mind.

The young master's words, what happened in her room, the fear of losing Asher.

She was not used in any of these emotions and having them accumulate together was making a big impact on her.

Asher was left speechless.

Seeing the lady he pursued for years crying in front of him and weakly sitting on the ground unable to do anything was clenching his heart in an unpleasant manner.

"I'm sorry, my lady." He whispered as he helped Elena get up and he hugged her.

"I have been ignorant. Please forgive me." Elena sobbed a few more times before she calmed down and she laid her head on the prince's shoulder.

"Please let me go with you. I will... I will help..." She continued to plead and Asher had no other choice but to accept.

He could not leave the lady crying and begging until he returned.

'I was not able to practice my magic for months now.' Pier thought as he stood in front of the preparation room's window.

He opened his palm and a white trail of sparkling magic manifested on it as his ice magic was released.

"Maybe I can explore the monsters on the outskirts." He spoke particularly to no one but himself.
