Pier turned his back from the knight and Gideon stood up from his kneeling position.

"M-Master..." He sniffed and rubbed his eyes.

"W-What-"

"Gideon." Pier interjected making him stop from mouthing the question he had.

"I decided to forget my name, my life, and what I was in my previous life. Please spare me that." Pier turned his head towards him and offered his knight a smile. The gentle gesture making Gideon's eyes shower tears even more.

He did not know what his master was in his previous life but Gideon did not want to know if his master doesn't want to.

If Pier decided to forget his previous life, then that must have been an unfortunate one. Gideon could easily tell from the way Pier's eyes did not turn crescent when he smiled.

"I... I understand, master." He tried to walk forward but the dragon's wings blocked him.

"Gideon." Pier called again and this time, he toughened himself and stood like how a knight does.

"I have someone I need to meet for now. The dragon will lead you out of here." Pier instructed him which made his eyes widen in surprise.

"But..."

"No buts. Listen to your master." Pier laughed and started to walk forward. Gideon attempted to follow him from behind but he couldn't because the dragon was still blocking him.

"N-NO, LET ME GO, DRAGON! MY MASTER!" He screamed and punched the creature's wings but it was of no use.

Pier was getting farther and farther in the distance while Gideon could not get himself out of the dragon's grasp.

"Dragon, why aren't you letting me go?!" He asked but the mythical creature shook its head.

"There is another creature trying to get inside the phoenix's void, Gideon. We cannot interfere if your master desires it or else he will be trapped here forever if you insist."

That made Gideon stop from trying.

That's right, he did not know where they are. He only remembered a flashing light occurring when he touched Pier's fingers and they suddenly transferred here.

But Gideon was considering the dragon's explanation because of his uncertainty.

The phoenix's void.

It was very large as if it was limitless.

Pier would be trapped here if Gideon was to interfere with the white-haired king's desires?

Nodding his head, he stood still and simply watched until Pier reached the bone monsters again. The undead creatures cradling the king in their tusks.

"My master..." He clenched his hands in a hopeless attempt to call for Pier.

"Gideon." This time, his ears perked up when he heard Pier's voice from the entire place.

The skies spoke of his desires and the clouds formed his words.

Pier was speaking to the world they were in and it was creating waves of shivers in Gideon's spine.

"You are no longer the young master's personal knight." It was too loud for him to even ignore and the unpleasant feeling of him getting discarded by his master was welling inside his body.

That's right.

How could he even become his master's personal knight when the supposedly sovereign of the entire Eastern Continent spoke about his capabilities?
