"Phoenix of the beginning, Melfar." The blue dragon spoke and Gideon gaped in complete shock.

Phoenix? Like the mythical creature spoken in books?

He seems to have finally lost it. Why would a phoenix be in front of him? But no, Pier was there too.

His master was floating in the sky with such immense magic being released from his body that Gideon, who was neither a mage nor spellcaster was trembling at the pressure.

"It seems like the young dragon knows me." Melfar spoke in amusement and the dragon behind Gideon took a deep inhale.

"Who would not dare to acknowledge the sovereign of the southern skies and the eastern continent?" If it were in comparison, the blue dragon was extremely large.

It was enormous and powerful. Gideon could see that the blue dragon was a quarter of the size of the first mountain in the Mir Kingdom.

But what about the one behind his master? The flaming bird was far bigger than the blue dragon.

It was enough to cover the five mountains of the Mir Kingdom if it were to spread its wings just as what it was doing right now.

"I see you have chosen my guardian's knight, little dragon." Melfar asked and the two creatures heard the phoenix's voice reverberate in the entire place they were in.

The lands were shaking and vibrating every time Melfar spoke.

It was too powerful.

"I mean no harm to the sovereign of the Eastern Continent's skies and its guardian's allies." The dragon spoke quite respectfully making Gideon even more baffled.

A dragon.

One of the creatures placed at the highest spot in the hierarchy of power was not wreaking havoc or asserting dominance in front of the phoenix.

"I was interested in the creature I felt inside my Guardian's knight but it only turns out to be a small dragon. My curiosity had been satiated." Melfar responded but Gideon opened his mouth to speak.

"Guardian...?" This time, he had the courage to ask between the towering creatures and Gideon froze once more when he felt Melfar's scrutinizing gaze towards him.

"Gideon-" The dragon tried to stop him but Melfar's authority was exceeding the heavens.

"Knight. The pathetic human who constantly made my guardian worry." The disappointment was evident in the phoenix's voice making Gideon furrow his eyebrows.

"You are not worthy in becoming my guardian's knight considering you do not even reach half the capacity of the candidate that marked him." It spoke and a pang of unpleasant emotion directly hit Gideon.

He knew that.

Despite for months, almost being a year with Pier, Gideon was improving.

From a basic knight, he climbed the ranks of the expert swordsman until he was now in this spot.

A sword master.

The epitome of the sword. The greatest and most respected wielder of the metallic weapon for the humans. In fact, if Gideon renounced his rank within any kingdom right now, he would immediately be granted the position of a duke or even be engaged with a royal.

But he couldn't. He felt irrelevant and small.

That's because of his master.

As he became the sword's strongest wielder, his master was improving multiple times too.
