No one spoke as a carriage wafted through the pile of snow. Even the servant tasked to do the announcements every time someone significant comes to the palace was ordered not to say anything.
This was a secret only the king and a few of his trusted people know of.
It stopped right in front of the palace and people resisted the urge to keep their mouths shut. However, one person standing in front of the quiet crowd stepped forward when the carriage finally halted in its tracks.
King Henry waited for the person from the carriage to come down with anxiousness.
Today was the day of the conference. Though he wasn't sure about the other party, the Heron Kingdom had agreed to uphold the conference in Taron along with King Henry.
Inside the carriage would be the person who ruled the territory that specializes in holy magic, King Caldor.
Slowly, the door of the vehicle opened and a person got out.
King Henry stood on his proper posture as he was about to meet another person in the same position as him. Though Taron had been one of the most prominent kingdoms when it comes to growth, Heron Kingdom was a territory not to scoff at.
Their propagation ever since their country was built twenty years ago was astounding that it even surpassed Taron during its prime years.
"King Henry." The person spoke and they all gulped when they saw the powerful man.
King Caldor of the Heron Kingdom stood at an astounding gaze and most of them shivered in the feeling of another king aside from the ones they have at Taron.
"King Caldor. It is my pleasure for you have personally come to Taron for the conference." The red-haired king spoke and they both smiled while shaking hands.
There wasn't any hint of animosity between the two kingdoms since Taron and Heron had been trading for quite some time now as well. The deportation of priests from Heron was beneficial towards Taron especially now that the sickness amongst its people was rampant.
"I am glad you decided to accept my request, King Henry. Let us head inside and immediately start the discussion." His presence alone was intimidating and the others who do not stand in the same level as the two kings were having a hard time keeping up.
The two kings started to walk inside and King Caldor took notice of the others who were walking beside them.
There were many knights and mages.
His eyebrows also rose when he saw some figures who were not shying away from his presence.
'Interesting.' He chuckled as they finally went inside the palace.
Servants who were not affected by the plague lowered their heads down in respect and King Henry spoke out of the blue.
"Do you desire any of the servants, King Caldor?" He asked and the latter had a surprised look on his face.
"Desire?"
That made Henry halt for a moment.
Despite its territory being filled with priests that wields powerful holy magic, King Caldor was known to have many concubines and night secrets. It was openly spoken by everyone about the king's insatiable hunger towards any human person who is beautiful.
"I am not interested with any of your servants, King Henry. I came here for the conference alone." The Holy King spoke quite calmly which astounded the red-haired ruler.
"I see."
They both continued to head towards the conference room which was simply right beside the throne room.
