The darkness contains a vast array of creatures. From the tiniest until the largest one, you could find plenty of them.

There are powerless and harmless ones that could not even hurt a single creature such as the dead souls that cannot accept their fate of dying.

Roaming the surface of the world while looking for something they wanted to stare at for decades and centuries to come, these dead souls are quite scary yet docile.

However, there are also some of those that hold so much power they are becoming a threat to every living being.

One of those examples is the former prince of vampires but now a renowned king of a hidden kingdom in the most dangerous mountains of the continent.

How did he come into this position? Ciaran reminisced the moments he was training on the mountains to fend off monsters and magical beasts.

Back then, he could barely use his shadows to look around an area for a long time.

The man chuckled as he sat on the walls of the northern empire.

"My love," He closed his eyes and allowed the wind to caress his face. The cold and freezing breeze reminded him of the moments Pier stayed in their small village.

The moment Pier left the village to cool off after Hex burned his arm with the hot coffee the white-haired king used to heal the sick Bran, Ciaran used his magic that time to look for him.

The vampire king still remembered how exhausting it was to release a few of the dead souls he had gathered and how it almost depleted his magic.

"But look at this now." He opened his eyes and smiled when he saw the unending army of his shadow monsters.

"Pier gave me such a wonderful gift," he spoke.

Why was Ciaran able to absorb all of the monsters that died in the Mir Mountains as his shadow anyway?

Because of Pier.

The former young master was the one who slew some of the most monstrous monsters with his magic and Ciaran took the opportunity of turning their souls into his shadows.

Now almost no one can rival him.

Pier alone can do so and he still cannot defeat the white-haired king in a duel.

His lover gave this immense power that he was able to become a candidate as the sovereign of darkness and soon he would fulfill his goals.

He will become the sovereign of darkness and use his power to protect his light.

Ciaran will use the darkness to defend his lover from the rest of the world that tried to harm him.

"Move," he commanded the shadows and the army started moving.

"My liege, we have confirmed it that there are minimal defenses guarding Cresencia as of the moment," King Caldor, no, Fluffy spoke beside him and the vampire king nodded his head in recognition.

"Pier was right," He chuckled at how smart his lover was.

Cresencia's defenses are at an all-time low after they decided to attack three kingdoms simultaneously.

"I wonder if our kids would be as smart as him," The green-eyed man spoke to himself and Fluffy observed his master carefully.

"Can I become your kids' guardian, your majesty?" Ciaran turned his head to look at the dead fairy.

Out of all his shadows, the Fairy of Death alone had the power of possession and that's what they used to acquire control over the Heron Kingdom's ruler.
