Lightning flashed across the sky and it hit the tallest tower of the palace.
"Wow, it's beautiful," the young child commented as he sat on the window frame with his feet dangling on the edge.
"Raegan, you should sleep now," the man who wielded a dual sword called out to him and the child followed immediately.
"Uncle! Uncle! The lights are beautiful!" He spoke in excitement while hopping toward his bed.
"Yes, the lightnings are beautiful but they are dangerous," Gideon reminded him. Lifting the young prince off of his feet and onto the bed, he made sure Raegan was comfortable.
"Dangerous? Why?" His blue and wide eyes contained so much curiosity.
"If you are struck by one, it would hurt very much!" Gideon hummed while soothing Raegan's hair.
"Even more than the scorpie's sting?" Gideon chuckled at the term.
Scorpies.
Raegan did not like the word scorpion because it does not fit the cute little creatures that he often plays house with. Instead, he used scorpies to call them.
Of course, only the dragon prince thinks that way. Even Gideon tends to stray far from the venomous and deadly critters that could probably kill him in a minute.
"Yes, even more than the scorpies. The lightning will burn your body!" He sounded scary as if he was telling his kid a horror story.
"Wow..." but he did not get the reaction he wanted from the prince. Instead, Raegan's eyes sparkled in astonishment.
"I... I want to touch the lightning," Raegan murmured under his breath before closing his eyes.
That made the swordmaster quite baffled with the child's request.
The Royal Family of the Mir Kingdom was extraordinary. No one is sane enough to act like a normal being.
'Being insane is normal for them,' he sweatdropped at the thought.
First was the vampire king who only acted good in front of the other king. Ciaran who could raise the soul of any literal dead being and use it as his force was already a reason for anyone to stray from his path.
Then the second was the white-haired king. Gideon knew that his master was rational and collected most of the time but if someone were to dare and cross his path, hell would break loose. Cities upon cities will be destroyed as he manipulated each and every territory upon his will.
Gideon observed Raegan's face.
The child's black hair and blue eyes resembled those of his dad's when Pier still had his black hair. He wondered if it really was Raegan's appearance or if he tended to copy the appearance of the man he liked the most.
But seeing that Raegan had a black body and dark blue scales in his dragon form then it was probably the former option.
"He's following the steps of his parents." Of course, Gideon was proud that the little prince was being raised by his parents in a manner that was neither too lenient nor authoritative with him.
They taught Raegan plenty of things in the span of months as the dragon stayed with them which includes magic, battles, how to act around people, and his own manners.
But of course, Raegan could see how his parents were ruling. Pier and Ciaran were kings who treasured their people. The young dragon was learning from them too. However, that did not cover up the fact that his parents were insane enough to take on anyone whether it'd be humans or other creatures in a ferocious battle.
