Pier stood in front of the kneeling prince while holding Nicholas in his arms.

Asher's eyes were wide and he couldn't believe that Pier was indeed standing in front of him.

"Pier..." the crown prince spoke breathlessly but the white-haired man did not have the same expression as him.

There was a look of contempt in Pier's eyes as he observed the red-haired prince.

Blood was everywhere. First, he took notice of the bleeding king behind them that was on the verge of death. The second was the speechless golden-haired prince tied on a chair. Third was the lady who was in the same situation as the others.

Last was Asher.

The crown prince was catching his breath with all his might but it looks like it would soon stop if not treated immediately.

"Why can't you save your brother?" Pier asked him and Asher stiffened in his spot.

He was feeling a heavy weight on his shoulder while he looked at the now healed and back to normal Nicholas in the young master's arms.

Asher couldn't even do a thing as his younger brother was almost killed by the duke. He tried, he tried to resist the restraints binding him but he had become so weak due to the uncountable wounds in his body.

He couldn't meet Pier's scrutinizing gaze and instead, chose to lower his head down in shame.

"I... I'm sorry, I couldn't..." His words were cut short due to his desperate need for air.

"Whatever," Pier spoke before stepping towards Asher and touching the tip of his finger on the prince's forehead.

A second had passed and healing magic started to flow inside the crown prince. Asher's body slightly glowed as the spell worked its way in him and the extreme pain he felt diminished after a few more seconds.

He was no longer trying to catch his breaths but he still kneeled there in defeat.

"Please... please heal my father too..." He begged and Pier turned his gaze towards the king.

King Henry was extremely pale. Deathly pale to be precise and any minute from now, he would disappear from this world.

"Why would I heal your father? He did me wrong, after all." Giving Asher a lopsided grin, Pier mocked the crown prince and Asher shivered at the aura Pier was emitting.

It was absolute. He felt so little before the man and the authority was even greater than that of a king.

'What... is this...' He couldn't grasp the full concept of what was happening. Just a few minutes ago, he saw his brother getting beaten into a pulp but now he was kneeling in front of Pier.

"Do you think your father is worthy of my time, Asher?" Pier asked him and the latter could not speak even a single word in response.

The authority Pier exuded right now was so great that Asher could not meet his gaze.

"I will.... I will do anything you want. Please, just heal my father!" He clenched his hands in fear and submission.

"Haha." However, Asher froze in his spot the moment he heard Pier laugh.

"It wasn't even a year ago I was kneeling in front of the town square while you used the magic of rulers to make me apologize towards Elena," Pier spoke in amusement and Asher trembled in fear.

"How the tables have turned, Asher." Pier stepped on the broken glass and started walking towards Henry.

"Good thing Nicholas got into the scene or I would've had the pleasure of watching Henry die because of a wound on his hand," Pier clicked his tongue as he stood in front of the king.
