The young master did not spare him another glance up until they were about to return to the palace.
People could also feel it. The crown prince kept on stealing glances towards Pier but the latter was blatantly ignoring him even when Asher called his name.
They could not ask anything about them either. They do not have the significance to inquire about what's wrong with the two individuals who had the highest authority in the kingdom as successors.
"Young master, is there something wrong?" But it was another story for someone who supports the young master.
Pier turned to look at Trevor and he shook his head.
"None. There's none. Why do you think we have a problem?" He asked and Trevor shrugged his shoulders.
"Prince Asher kept on staring at you as if he'd done something wrong." He spoke while making a face.
"Hmmm. Why don't you go ask him then?" Trevor's eyes widened when he heard Pier's suggestion and he retreated back in his ideas.
"Maybe he doesn't have a problem. What if his highness now likes you, young master?" He asked and it was Pier's turn to make a face.
"Where'd you get that idea?" He inquired and Trevor stared at him seriously for an entire minute.
"Don't you have a fiancé yet, young master?" Trevor asked and Pier shook his head.
He was already eighteen and he was not pursuing nor being pursued by someone from the kingdom.
Noble children usually get engaged at the age of sixteen.
One example of it was Pier's initial engagement with the young duke from the Sentinio Duchy two years before.
'I've been too occupied that I forgot Pier got engaged with Raphael before.' He dreaded at the thought.
"I don't."
"Then maybe his highness is taking an interest with the young master!" Trevor spoke with enthusiasm which Pier did not like.
"I'm not so sure about that. He already has the lady from the Marquis household."
"That's true. Bummer." Trevor clicked his tongue and laid back on the bed he had been previously sitting on.
"I'd like to see the young master and the prince together." He spoke and Pier halted his actions at the statement.
"Don't you also need to pack your things? We're leaving by sunrise tomorrow." He reminded him making Trevor groan in annoyance.
"Stop relying on your servants too much, Trev. No lady would like a noble man who does not know how to look after his own self." He lectured and Trevor's displeased look remained. He grumbled while folding the clothes on his bed.
Pier's mind went back to the statement Trevor had said.
No matter how much he tried to look at it, Asher was no one in his life.
The prince was a stranger that he only needed to deal with because of the original owner of the body he was residing in.
Everyone in Pier's life before were strangers that he needed to accompany and interact with because they were interlinked with the young master.
'If it weren't for the original Pier, I would have left the kingdom already.' He sighed as he thought about it.
'Though it's now mixed with personal interest, it's mostly still about Pier.'
The only individuals that he found significant were Gideon and Ciaran. Though some of the servants from the mansion that he himself have hired also had a little place in his book of goodwill.
