"What do we need to do, master?" Gideon asked as Pier was sitting on the throne.
It looked surreal.
Seeing the once young master sitting on the throne felt like it was the perfect spot for him to be at.
"The Empire of the North will attack Taron Kingdom."
"Ha?!" His eyes widened and he quickly stood from his seat.
"Calm down, idiot." Pier chuckled but Gideon still kept on pacing in front of the throne.
Just the thought of Taron being invaded by one of the strongest empires from the north was unsettling enough.
There was a reason it was an empire. It was something greater than a kingdom, greater than Taron.
Not that he really cared but there were people in the kingdom he cared about.
People from the orphanage.
"But..."
He tried to speak but kept his mouth shut when he saw Pier's expression.
"My liege, are you... bored?" Gideon asked with exasperation wherein Pier shook his head.
Was it that obvious?
He was trying to hide his expression of boredom especially that Gideon seemed to worry for his family at the orphanage.
"No...?" He avoided gaze but Gideon already knew otherwise.
War, death, the most worrisome things are something Pier Belmiunde gets bored of. That's a fact he knew from serving the king since many months ago.
"You don't need to lie, my liege. Your expression says it all." He commented and Pier clicked his tongue before crossing his legs and leaning on his hand.
"The Empire of the North will invade Taron but it won't really deal a serious problem." He spoke and Gideon sighed a breath of relief. That is until Pier decided to add something.
"If we won't intervene, that is." Gideon took in a sudden breath which he also did not expect and it had him choking and coughing.
"Kurkh! W-What?!" He spoke again and this time, Pier was looking at him as if Gideon had somehow grown two horns in his head.
'He's definitely like fluffy if he does the 'kurkh' thing.' He wanted to laugh at the situation but Pier saw how worried his knight was.
"The Empire of the North and the Belmaid Empire have been on war with each other for months now. I think it was right after the royal banquet?" He raised his hand and black smoke started to appear from his feet.
It was one thing he discovered after being marked by a certain someone who's always trying to make a move on him.
He can use Ciaran's ability of seeing what his shadow sees.
'Wonder what he got from me.' He hummed while waiting for the black smoke to form some sort of portal that displays different sights.
Gideon on the other hand was watching the spell with awe.
'Archmage...' He thought about what the phoenix told him days ago.
The highest and strongest magic user amongst humans.
That's what the phoenix wanted Pier to be and seeing his master right now, Gideon wasn't doubting Pier would again, reach another title without much thought.
'I'm the knight of an archmage.' He blushed at the sudden thought and turned his gaze away in embarrassment.
How could would it be if he were to become the Archmage's trusted guard?
