"Wow, I've never been to the outskirts of the kingdom." Trevor spoke in amazement once they landed at the nearest city that receives teleportation magic from the palace.
Pier kept silent as he observed the surroundings.
The place they were going to stay at was not bad but it wasn't good either.
Due to its distance from the capital and the lack of attention towards it by the greedy nobles who prioritizes themselves alone, the outskirts were completely underdeveloped.
Compared to the other sections of the kingdom, the Southern district was thriving since it connects with other places such as the Mir Mountains and the Heron Kingdom.
The Western District was the same. It was an outlet to other routes that leads to various places such as the Monian and the Belmaid Empire.
However, the Northern and Eastern District are different with each other yet the same in an aspect. The North was ruled by the Archduke that's why even if it does not have any access routes and is completely desolated, it still is thriving and flourishing.
It was another story for the Eastern District where a vast body of water was facing them.
The sea breeze was cold as it caressed their faces and Pier's hair was gently swaying with the wind. His winter coat was flapping from behind all the while he had a somber look on his face.
People here lived in poverty. No kingdom had ever completely resolved this problem because of problems within high society itself.
"When are the rations for the citizens here arriving?" Asher inquired Betram, the palace's head mage who was the highest-ranking mage in the kingdom as well.
"It will arrive in an estimation of a day, your highness. The carriages containing them are still being inspected for any anomalies and once secured, they will immediately be transported through the teleportation passages." He responded with a monotonous voice that Asher had been used to ever since he was young.
"Thank you, Betram."
"It is my duty, your highness." The highest-ranking mage bowed down before he took a step back but he took a glance at the young master from a distance.
'What is with that aura?' He inquired while staring at Pier.
Decades of learning magic, Bertram gave up everything aside from his profession. That's why he was able to become one of the best mages in the kingdom. He can easily know the capacity of a person right after he observes them for a few seconds.
It was his first time seeing an aura that the young master possessed.
It was a raging combination.
The most noticeable one was a halo that seemed to surround the young master's body. However, there were also other auras that Betram could feel.
'Flames? Ice?' He could not help but stare at the young master.
Normal human eyes could not see it but once they do, they would be astounded.
'A catastrophe.'
---
"Are you not scared, young master?" Trevor asked as they settled their things inside the small house that they will be staying in for the next two days.
It was just like their trip to the Yuko Boundary but this time, it was far more dangerous and it there were no special accommodations since the people on the outskirts cannot really provide any special treatment for the prince who came to visit them.
