It's rained the whole day after you helped bruno. Your parents are having a nice relaxing day inside today. you wonder if the madrigals are okay and decide maybe you should go check.
"i'll be back!" you tell your parents
"stay safe" they tell you
you head out and run to the madrigal house so you aren't in the rain too long. You knock and Bruno comes to the door.
"oh (y/n) hi. " he smiles
"hey how you feeling? thought i'd come by and see how you are."
"i'm okay. come in"
you go inside and Bruno gets you a towel to dry off a bit. You two talk and a rat peeks out his ruana.
"oh uh sorry if you don't like-" Bruno starts
"woah cool a rat." you smile
"cool?" Bruno is shocked
"yeah i think rats are pretty cool. " you said and stick your hand out
the rat climbs on your hand and you smile. you let it climb on you a bit then hand it back to Bruno.
"most people think it's weird. " Bruno said rubbing his arm
you two hear the rain stop. you both look and see Pepa at the top of the stairs.
"pepa hey!" you said smiling
she couldn't help but smile back.
"hi." she walks down.
"how are you ?" you ask nervously and play with the end of your yellow ruana
"i'm okay." she said
"liar. surprised you didn't flood town" Bruno said
"i'll flood you" Pepa threatens and thunder goes off
Bruno gulps and retreats to the kitchen.
"sorry he annoys me sometimes " she said awkwardly
"it's okay. it's nice to see your beautiful face" you tell her with a little confidence
she blushes and try to look away. a small rainbow forming over her head
"hey no need to be shy" you take a step toward
Pepa wants to stop back but Casita pushes her toward you liking the idea of you two. Pepa trips and you catch her before she can fall.
"hey I got you" you say and look at her.
you two stare into each other's eyes and get lost. you two hear someone clear their throat. you two move from each other fast blushing. Alma looks at you two amused.
"(y/n) I'd like to invite you and your parents to dinner tonight as a thank you for helping Bruno." she said
"oh Mami he might be busy.." pepa says not wanting her mom to meddle
"oh no we'd love to come. I'll go tell my parents. gracias señora madrigal. " you smile bright at her.
you say your goodbyes and head home.
"mami why'd you do that?" Pepa ask
"i want to get to know my future son in law" she teases.
Pepa blushes and rushes to julietas room. she knocks
"Juli... i just wanted to say i'm sorry.. and i need help" Pepa said
Julieta opens the door and looks at her sister amused
"i accept your apology. i know you didn't mean it. what do you want help with?" Julieta ask
"mami invited (y/n) and his family over. i want help getting ready please. " Pepa ask her sister hopeful
Julieta nods and goes to Pepa's room with her
Meanwhile you enter your house and your parents are slow dancing. you smile and just watch them. your mom noticed you first.
"oh mijo hi" she said
she walks over to you
"mami papi Señora madrigal invited us over for dinner.. she uh wanted to thank me for helping bruno yesterday when he got hurt. " you tell them
"you didn't tell us about him getting hurt" your dad said
"just two punks thinking it's okay to try to beat him up. " you said
You and your parents talk about what happen and then they tell you to go get ready. you take a quick shower and head to your room to get ready. you dress casually in black pants, a white button down and your yellow ruana on top. you smile at your outfit and fix your hair.
"mijo.. you go to the madrigals. something is wrong with your mami. we are heading to the doctor. just enjoy the night for us. she's gonna be okay. " your dad said after he runs into your room.
"what ? no let me go with you." you said scared
"shh your mami is going to be okay. just go to the madrigals it would be seen as rude if nobody shows up. " he told you
you watch as he helps your mom out the door. you sigh and run a hand through your hair. you grab the wine your parents was going to bring and head to the madrigal house.
Casita moves the tiles under Julieta and Pepas feet.
"he's here" they say together.
Bruno let's you in.
"so uh are you and Pepa.. you know?" he ask
"oh no i'm not dating your sister." you blush
"yet" Bruno said
"wait what?" you ask
"brunito i need help" you hear from the kitchen
"coming mami" Bruno rushes to the kitchen
you wonder if he saw your future. you sigh and casita turns you to the stairs and you look. your jaw drops. there is Pepa looking beautiful as ever. her hair is out and she walks slowly down. you can't help but smile watching the girl.
"wow you look beautiful.. not that you don't always look beautiful. " you say awkwardly
"thank you " she blushes
"time for dinner" Alma shouts from the kitchen.
you all go sit down. you inform Alma about your mother.
"I'll make sure to visit your mother tomorrow " Alma said.
she did grow up with your mom. you nod and you all eat.
"so (y/n) ... do you plan on marriage anytime soon " Alma ask
Pepa chokes on her drink and you rub her back.
"oh i don't even have a girlfriend... but I would want to get married one day and have a family" you answer
Pepa can't help but blush thinking of marrying you and having kids. the rest of the night seems to be wonderful.
