Y/n's pov.  

" Hi Vanellope " I press the button to shut the door behind me as I see the little girl on her bed.

She holds the mouse toy looking at me with her honey yellow eyes in her blue pajamas and then look at her twin sister in my arms.

" Penelope " her tongue slithered as I approach.

I kneel down next to her on the bed then lie Penelope down and Vanellope put her mouse toy.

" Penny " she shakes her and Penelope just sleeps soundlessly.

" She's okay, just sleepy " I said and caress her blond hair.

I then feel her forehead, she's not warm anymore but I can see she still has a runny nose, she's been sick for a while too but seems like it's subsiding. Vanellope then pick up her mouse toy and put it on Penelope's hand before lying down next to her sister, I see the twin faces but the only difference I can tell is Vanellope has yellow eyes, Penelope's are green.

" Do you want to eat anything? " I asked, she focuses on her sister and I grab the blanket to put it over them.

Her tongue slithered again and I get up to switch on the nightlight, I head to the door and leave after switching off the main light and shutting the door behind me. I see my husband standing by the window in this hallway to the girls room, I fold my arms and approach him.

" When did you get here? " I asked in a tone.

" I'm sorry " he turns his face to me and his eyes are bloodshot.

" I shouldn't have bite down and. . . " He gulps and smile.

" I love you " he sniffle, I let out a breath to realize it.

" You got them? " I said, he shake his head.

" Nope " he said.

" You did!, Let me see " I lift his shirt and he grabs my wrist.

" No!, No, no " I squint my eyes at him and he gulps again.

" Don't be shy " I step forward as he backs up with a laugh.

" I won't forgive you then "

" Maybe not today, I'll show you in a couple of days " he said.

" We always shower together, so this shirt better be off when I get home, then maybe I'll forgive you " I point to his chest.

" Anyways " he let go of my wrist then turn me around with his arms around my shoulder from behind.

" I heard the hybrids are a handful already " he said, I hum as we look through the window.

" Penelope attacked another hybrid, so we think it's because of the separation and now we'll see if anything changes when we put her with Vanellope " I said.

" Could be separation anxiety, I met someone before who has it and didn't bode well with him " he said.

" Like how? " I asked.

" He was aggressive to everyone, and argues a lot, they could have it " he said.

" Maybe " I said.

We see Vanellope is slowly falling asleep next to her sister.

" Oh, I almost forgot, I have a present for you " he said.

" It's not my birthday " I said.

" I know but you'll love it once you get home, take it as my token of an apology " he said, I snicker.
