no one wants pathetic sluts like you here. you're just a fucking disappointment."
those words ringed in chenle's ears as tears almost fell out of his eyes. knowing that this situation will only get worse, heuningkai grabbed his hand and tried to walk out of the place with him. "alright hyung, let's go. these shitheads won't understand at all."
"who the hell are you calling a-"
the asshole was cut off when he got a blow to his head, causing him to fall down. he turned back to see jisung staring menacingly at him, clenching his fists so hard that his veins popped out of his arms.
"who the fuck did you just call a slut? leave him the fuck alone, or else," the maknae's tone was extremely menacing to everyone, who immediately dissipated from the scenario at his command.
no more words were spoken as he scrambled out of the place, leaving the three alone.
chenle was almost on the verge of tears, drooping his head down while heuningkai sighed at the amount of close-minded people in their class. jisung immediately held chenle in his hands, comforting him as he silently cried at the hurtful words. "i'm so sorry, i didn't hear what was going on...but it's fine, he'll not hurt you anymore."
"ji...is he...right...?"
"of course not! you're neither a slut nor a disappointment. in fact, they're the ones who are disappointments, not you," jisung said gently, while secretly wondering where his normal self-esteem went off to. "fucking bitches, they can't even care about their own business and have to meddle in others."
"so, i'll go and complain to mr bang about this, he'll help us," heuningkai said firmly to the two, more than glad to have this issue covered. "i'll see you two at 5 then."
heuningkai bid farewell, leaving the couple alone. chenle was still sobbing at what happened, his self-esteem plummeting each second. he pulled out of jisung's embrace and speedwalked out of the hallway downstairs, leaving him confused.
he ignored jisung's calls as he increased his speed, almost running to his dorms as he did. jisung, on the other hand, sighed to himself as he kept on chasing him, almost believing that he struck a nerve in him somehow and made something worse.
🍂
jisung pushed open the door to their shared dorms, only to hear chenle's sniffles and sobs coming from his room. he threw his bag down and approached his room, opening the door to see him crying into a pillow.
he lay next to him, but instead of comforting him like he used to, he decided to be assertive. "normally you would have not cared if someone made fun of you for what you wear, but what happened now?"
no response came over chenle as he kept on crying.
jisung landed his fist on the bed loudly as he snapped at him. "i said, answer me!"
that somehow worked as chenle got up, his sobs slowly dying down while he gathered all of his courage to tell what exactly struck a nerve in him. "it's because...h-he's right..."
jisung approached him and pulled him into his hands, further reducing his sobs. "what do you mean...?"
"i was...thrown out of my house...for the exact same reason...it took me so long to build up this belief in myself that...whatever i did was not wrong and the fact that it's my own wish...but...they had to bring it up..." chenle said, words struggling to come out of his mouth. "i'm just a fucking disappointment as they said..."
jisung fell silent as he let all of that, sink in. the boy he actually looked up to because of his confidence, had to endure being thrown out of his own place and spend years building up courage in himself, one step at a time, only for it to be destroyed by a single sentence.
