"bae, quick, quick, daddy's waking up pretty soon...!"

wookjin whisper-yelled as he beckoned bae to hide behind the door, his skilful hands pulling plates filled with desserts and what not on the table, making sure everything is arranged neatly on the small table as his keen ears started to pick noises of his slow footsteps, growing into a gradual crescendo indicating him that he might only have a few more seconds to spare.

by the time he heard the twist of the door handle, he ran towards the side of the door while beckoning bae to hide underneath the table. the door opened, revealing a very tired jisung, who was unfazed at the situation.

within moments, wookjin immediately switched the lights on and broke open a confetti popper, resulting in freaking jisung out and raining glittery paper everywhere. bae crawled out of the table and chanted the occasion. "happy birthday, daddy!"

jisung, who was still dumbfounded by the morning shock he had, took a few seconds to realize what exactly happened. as the event sank in, he let out a chuckle and slipped his arms underneath his daughter, picking her up and hugging her. small giggles erupted from her as his antics started to tickle her.

"is there nothing for me though, hmm...?" wookjin spoke out in a disapproving manner, frowning at his husband as his lips puckered into a pout. "i had planned all of this, and i didn't even get a kiss, jisungie..." he spoke out, dropping the honorifics.

the older merely chuckled at wookjin's clinginess. he kept bae on the ground before pulling wookjin into an embrace, wrapping his hands around his waist. jisung pressed his lips into wookjin's in a passionate kiss, wookjin tilting his head so that their noses wouldn't touch.

it felt like the moment would never end, until bae's voice spoke out. "mom and dad are being weird again."

realizing that they were making out in front of their daughter with no shame whatsoever, wookjin freaked out and pushed jisung away, before blushing furiously at the situation they ended up in. he picked bae up and pulled his husband close, relishing the silence they spent with each other.

bae shot open her eyes as she sharply gasped at the sight of her dear mother a few moments ago, albeit an imaginary one in a scenario she couldn't experience. tears blurring her vision as she glanced at her dad, who was sleeping soundly next to her with no qualms whatsoever.

having no more sleep in her small frame, she jumped out of the bed and waddled towards jisung's phone on the nightstand, opening to see what exactly the date was, and to her surprise indeed, her dream was calling out to her.

withholding her urge to scream and squeal, bae slowly pulled the door open to give her enough space to squeeze herself out of the room, and much to her unamusement, jisung was still asleep in his deep slumber. she walked towards the room where her aunt was sleeping, and to her relief, the door was already ajar, so she went inside the dusty room.

she glanced at chenle, who was deep asleep on the mattress, one of his hands falling off the mattress as his mouth was slightly open, occassionally sniffling at times like he were crying minutes prior to falling asleep. she pulled herself to the mattress and started to nudge his arm, her actions growing more in frequency until chenle jolted himself awake, rubbing his eyes to realize what was going on.

chenle glanced at her, confused and annoyed as it was clearly not the time for a 4 year old to be awake. he pulled himself up laboriously, leaning on the headboard of the bed as he choked out a small groan. "why are you awake right now...go back to sleep...bae..." he spoke out.
