the group of sophomores menacingly approached the poor helpless boy who was practically drowning in his own temporary misery as he missed his best friends and his boyfriend, bitterly. one of the young men could not help but scoff.
chenle's head jolted up to see a bunch of his apparent classmates looking at him with a stoic yet frowning face, like as if he did something subtly wrong and they were merely frustrated at the hypothetical issue. his frame went stiff as their piercing glares were virtually burning through his skin. "i-is there...anything wrong...?" he choked out.
one of them curled his lips into a menacing smile as he kneeled down to chenle's posture, looking at him with a gaze equivalent of a predator prowling around his prey. chenle's lips wobbled, with his frame following suit not moments later; there was definitely something going on.
"look, there's some stuff we have to break to you..." the young man started with a sigh that even youtubers having to make an apology video would be envious of. "...and it's about your boyfriend."
chenle's gaze on the sophomore was sceptical as a frown puckered his forehead, raising an eyebrow in worry and suspicion. "h-he...he didn't do anything wrong! y-you all might have gotten the wrong person, but he-"
"did i say he did anything wrong...?" he cut him off, intonating the ebb and flow of his tone to the point where it sounded outright condescending to chenle. "did i?"
chenle struggled to keep his eye contact with the uncomfortably condescending individual as he drooped his head down, his voice breaking in the process. "n-no..."
"right..." he trailed off as his smile came back to him once again, terrifying chenle to no end once again. "so, as i started, there's something that i have noticed between you and your boyfriend...and you might have to think it through."
"w-what do you mean...?" chenle could not help but stutter as his fidgetted his fingers, the floor seemingly felt like it was swaying under his feet.
"you know how well of a student he was before college?" the classmate queried, although he was not expecting an answer from chenle.
chenle's mind went blank as he tried so hard to remember anything jisung had slipped in about his previous years at school or before he met him, but the only memory waves of the younger ever mentioning his past memories was when he spoke about his self-harm.
chenle's lips wobbled as guilt started to take over him, disappointed in himself that he barely knew anything about jisung's past even after it had been 4 months since he had known him.
seeing his turmoil, the classmate merely snickered at him, waving it off as if it was some trivial issue. "i used to be his senior in his school. he's the most diligent and studious fucker i ever had the pleasure of meeting, and honestly, i'm pretty sure he was the valedictorian, but i graduated before him, so i really have no clue."
chenle was all ears as his eyes lit up in curiosity, feeling giddy yet delighted to hear about his boyfriend's achievements, although a small part of him was still guilty over being this oblivious.
seeing his face lit up like anya's when she finds literally any new spy-related things whatsoever, the classmate couldn't help but chuckle. he knew, this was just the happy calm before the raging storm that is about to lash out at full force at chenle.
"you really can't see the problem, can you, chenle?"
his suspicious question in a seemingly amusing tone caught chenle completely off-guard.
chenle's lips trembled once again, he was not ready for imminent thunderclap that will change his direction completely.
