it had been 2 months already, and chenle could clearly see jisung was getting more and more overwhelmed over something that he has no idea of.
for the past few days, the younger had been ever-so-feverish and talked with his older name twin a lot, and hence he talked lesser and lesser to chenle, even going lengths to subtly ignore him at times. ever since jisung's fractures had been healed, chenle's mental state had only grown worse since then.
even though chenle did not show it out loud, he was clearly very much distraught because of the whole incident. whatever jisung, his older name twin and heuningkai were planning, needs to be put an end to because chenle could not and will not tolerate his boyfriend distancing himself from him.
and chenle knew clearly that he had to confront jisung today, or he would traverse a path where much, much worse ends await him.
jolting out of his thoughts, chenle realized he had been zoning out for too long on the couch. glancing at the door to their shared bedroom, he could make out noises of incoherent whispers from his boyfriend's voice, commanding on what to do and what not to do.
chenle tried his best to piece together on whatever splices of coherent phrases he could make out, but to his late timing, jisung opened the door, startling him. immediately pulling on his happy carefree façade, jisung started to talk. "lele, we're going to wookjin's favorite place today...you coming?"
"that's what you all had been planning for 2 months straight?!" chenle retorted, genuinely in disbelief at his offer. "for fuck's sake, you all could have asked me before itself, i would have loved to come with you all..."
"planning...? what plans? we don't have anything," the older jisung immediately defended his younger name twin, raising an eyebrow at chenle. "all what me and my name twin were talking about, is to make this day...slightly special, that's all. anyways...are you coming with us?"
"of course i am, at least i can visit gege's favorite place..." chenle trailed off as he let out a relieved sigh. "and what do you mean 'special'? like, is this day important...?"
"i...won't tell you that though, you have to experience that yourself, baby," jisung beamed wholesomely at a very confused chenle to the point where it looks menacing. "also, dress well if you can. i asked kai and he's also coming with us."
"b-but, i still don't get it! what the hell are you all hiding from me?!" chenle snapped, frustration finally getting into him as he was steadfast in his thinking that the three were definitely planning out something or the other, clearly getting on his nerves. he turned to his neighbour as he glared menacingly at the older, who merely chuckled at his antics as he did not give chenle an explanation, walking away.
"see, wookjin? it's like history repeating again. first it was ours, now it's theirs..." jisung thought, reminiscing his own proposal on the exact same place a very oblivious chenle is going to be asked the cathartic question as well. "poor thing, he doesn't know a word about this."
🍂
chenle flopped down, his dress spreading on the grass while the soft midnight breeze brushed over his hair.
apparently, wookjin's favorite place was a very calm meadow, with almost no soul wandering around the barren land. the midnight sky looked awfully clear that night, the stars twinkling as faint traces of clouds hovered past the glowing specks. grass lined the ground, as the cool breeze slowly wooshed by, the wind especially fresher on a hilly part of the grassy plane.
