The Trials of Fate

Chapter 3

Havens pov

Me and sissy went to the park so she could practice the lines for her play. She works on her lines as I climb a tree. I sit at the top and then notice an owl sitting and watching my sister.

Then I notice the time. "Sissy we got to get home daddy is waiting for us."

Sissy looks up at me in remembrance. "Oh yeah come down we have to go."

I hop down from the tree and we walk home.

"Kids your late."

"I know we just got distracted."

"Ok just try to be on time toby is upstairs in his crib we should only be gone for a couple of hours be good."

" Ok dad. Hades come on let's go upstairs."

We head upstairs and I climb into the crib with toby. Sissy sits on the rocking chair and continues to read. After a while I fall asleep with toby in his crib. I wake up to toby crying and a strange man standing over the crib. He picks Toby up and I grab his arm as he goes through the portal.

"Now young one you weren't supposed to follow." the man says after handing Toby off. He turns around and looks me in the eyes. He has a similar reaction to Tom. "Curious." He says before picking me up and walking over to his throne.

He sets me on his lap before speaking again. " Your sister has wished your little brother away so she must run my labyrinth. If she makes it in time she will be able to take you all home if not Toby stays here with me."

I look up at him in confusion. " But why did she wish him away and why would he have to stay with you."

" She wished him away because she wanted it to just be the two of you again as for why he would stay, the rules of wishing away state that any wish aways will be mine unless saved." I ponder his explanation before sadly looking at the orb showing my sister running the maze.

"At least now she runs because she realized her mistake." I say before scooting closer to the man and falling asleep.

Jareth's pov

The small boy scoots closer to me as he drifts of to sleep. How interesting for there to be a stowaway and for him to be my mate of all things. Never in a million years would I think that lady magic would choose me to be someone soulmate, his protector, his chosen ,his love. Never did I think that I would have someone to love or some one to love me.

I rap my arms around him and pull him even closer. I will protect him no matter what comes his way. I focus on him as the girl runs the maze.

Haven pov

I wake up in the man's arms close against his chest. I feel so safe here, safer than I have ever felt before. "Who are you? Why do you make me feel so safe?" I speak my thoughts.

" I am Jareth the goblin king. You feel so safe because we we chosen for each other. Fate has pulled us together and magic has done her part too."

"Chosen for each other? Lily my first mother talked about special times when magic would choose people for each other but she said it was very rare."

"Yes that is exactly what I mean you feel safe with them, there is a spark when you touch and they feel special to you."

I thought for a bit before asking, " but we haven't had a spark and I have had a spark before."

He looks shocked before replying, "you have not had the spark with me yet because I wore gloves preventing touch and sparks. As for the spark before it seems you may have more than one soulmate. Let me call someone to check."
