Chapter 10

Leah p.o.v

I wake up to an empty bed. God I miss her already. I felt her kiss my head before she left for work this morning but she ran out by the time I managed to wake myself up. Its 9am so I have an hour before me and Beth have to leave for camp, to be honest I have no motivation to go but me and Riley spoke last night and she made me promise that I wouldn't let us being apart affect my football so I just have to get on with it. I check my phone and instantly smile.

"good morning beautiful, I hope you had a good sleep and you're well rested for today. Ill call you on my break if you're free and after work before bed so I can hear all about your first day. I miss you already. 10 days to go!❤️" I read Rileys good morning message and I'm so greatful for her. She's so special and makes me feel like I can achieve anything with her by my side. I quickly reply back." good morning love, I slept great until you left the bed. Thank you for the kiss on the head, I tried to wake up before you left but you'd ran away already 😂 I'm awake now so feel free to call anytime and I'll let you know my schedule when I get to camp so you know when my down time is. 10 days to go darling. We've got this!❤️ " I reply back. Before I even get a chance to get out of bed Riley calls. " hey" she says happily. I miss her so much. "hey, you" I reply back. "how's work?" I ask. We chat about rileys work and how she's had a few difficult patients so far but apart from that she's enjoying it. "are you ready to go to camp?" she asks and I can tell shes just as sad about me going as I am. "nah I'm still in bed" I say laughing trying to lighten the mood. "leah Williamson get your lazy ass up"  she says with her stern voice. I mean I wont lie it turns me on when she's stern with me but I won't tell her that! "I'm up, I'm up" I say rushing out of bed. "good girl" she replies. We chat for a little bit longer until she has to get back to work. "let me know you get to the camp safely and tell the girls I said hi." she says sweetly. "I will darling, message when you finish and we can facetime before bed!" I wish it wasnt over the phone but Ill take what i can for now. "of course I want to see your face before I fall asleep." she says cutely. We end the call and I feel sad again. God this is going to be a hard 10 days.

Riley p.o.v

I've just come off the phone to leah. I miss her so much and I can tell she's missing me too. I'm glad I got to call her before she left, I really hope she has the best time whilst she's away and I can't wait to hear what a riot they've all been. I can't imagine trying to control them all when they're together, especially leah, Beth, Lucy and keira. They all play pranks on others in the team and the stories I've heard have always been hilarious. To be honest I'm glad I'm working for the next three days it gives me a distraction and means Im not just laying around the house like a sad sack.

At around 2pm leah let's me know she's arrived at camp and already tooney has burst her eardrum. I laugh at her message and heart it. I can't reply right now but I want her to at least know Ive seen it. The next few hours really drag in and I think it's because I know when I finish I get to put all my attention into leah.

Home time, woo hoo! I basically run to my car and message leah to say I've finished, she immediately opens it and calls me. "hey, you!" I answer. "riley!" that's not leah! "kiera is that you?" I answer confused. "yeah, look leah got hurt during training."  what! "oh god is she okay? What happened? Where is she?" I am panicking. "Riley, it was Lauren!" I don't understand. "Lauren hurt her?" I can feel my hands tighten on my steering wheel. She better not of fucking hurt leah. "leah and Lauren were on opposite teams. We were just having a kick around it was just to get used to playing together again..." "I don't want to be rude but I really don't care what they were doing. Just tell me what happened." I am beyond fuming, If Lauren's hurt leah ill fucking kill her. "sorry, Lauren was running with the ball and leah tackled her. It was a clean tackle but when leah was walking away Lauren said something... About you... and well uh, leah got annoyed and argued with Lauren and then Lauren kinda, uh, punched leah..." what the fuck. What the actual fuck. What did leah do to Lauren to deserve that? " im coming up." I say. " no, no don't. Leah told me to make sure you didn't come. She gave me her phone when she went to her meeting about the fight and told me to call you when you said you'd finished work. She told me to tell you what happened but she doesn't want you to come. She said something about promises." I know she meant if I leave work my Co workers will have to work harder. We promised we'd not let our work be affected by us. But come on to fuck surely there's a clause in that somewhere that says 'unless the other is beaten up and hurt'. "yeah okay fine but tell her I'm thinking of her and I'll be there if she needs me." "and I'm sorry" I whisper. "this isn't your fault. Lauren was out of order and you made your feelings clear right away. Do not apologise. You know leah hates when you say it." how does she know that? "thank you kiera. I'll talk to you later." I drive home still so annoying but also feeling so guilty. Leah got hurt because of me. Leah and lauren fought over me. Why me? Come on guys I'm nothing special. I don't even want to know what Lauren said.
