Chapter 25

Leah p.o.v

To say these last few weeks have been stressful is an understatement. Between football, Rileys music career taking off, us becoming public, everything surrounding jordan and the euros coming up. It has just been so hard for us. I couldn't be prouder of Riley and what she's achieving yet she still always puts me and my football first.

My mum invited us to the lake district with her so we are currently packing for that. I can't wait to just get away with Riley for a couple days and enjoy some peace and quiet. "just off the phone to your mum, she says we can either meet her up there or we can all go together?" Riley asks as she comes into the bedroom. Her and my mum have spoke every day since Riley helped her garden. Im so happy they get along and that Riley can go to my mum if she needs anything. "I'm happy to go with them but still take seperate cars. We can just follow them up. Just incase we need the car for anything." I don't really want to travel with my mum because it's less time for me and Riley alone. I know we are basically living together but I've had training every day and she's had her album to work on so we really don't have any quality time together. "yeah that sounds good to me. I'll let her know. Want a hand to pack?" Riley says looking at the mess on the bed. I just give her a look and she giggles and walks out the room. She knows I like to pack for us, she will say its because I like to make sure she wears my clothes which is half true, but the real reason is when weve spoke about her past she told me about her packing up her mums things when she died and how hard it was, then packing up her dad's things, then her own when she moved down to England so I always offer to pack for her so that hopefully she'll never have to pack again. It's one thing I can do for her to break a horrible pattern and yes this type of packing is different and for a happy reason but I'm worried itll bring back those memories. So I'll let her continue to believe I do it so she wears my clothes just to keep that beautiful smile on her face.

I finish packing and head down stairs. I go to the kitchen but can't see Riley. "boo!" I jump up and scream. "Riley!" I shout at her. This little shit is rolling around the floor pissing herself. I would usually be mad if someone gave me a fright but honestly seeing her laughing is worth the two seconds of fear I had. "sorry, I couldn't help myself." Riley says finally picking herself off the floor. "uh huh. You'll regret this." I say with a smirk. "yeah well say hi to my insta. We are live." my head snaps at her phone and I just laugh. "you're so dead." I say and Riley quickly gets her phone and runs away. I catch her instantly and she just huffs. "I should really remember who I'm dating. Ain't no way I'm out running you." Riley says catching her breathe. I laugh at her. "that's what you get for being with a footballer." I say lifting her up over my shoulder. "leah, we are still live, put me down." Riley says attempting to be stern but she can't help but laugh. "ah forgot about that." I take Rileys phone in my hand and look at the screen. "sorry guys. Rileys on a timeout. We will go live later on for you guys. Love you all bye." I say and end the live. I throw Rileys phone down and then throw Riley down on the couch. I climb on top of her and begin kissing her. God I want her so bad. "leah, we have to get going." Riley says between moans as I kiss her neck. "we have time." I whisper against her. "hey we are... Ahhhh oh my god." viv shouts and runs out the room. Me and Riley burst out laughing. I move off Riley and she goes to see viv. When she leaves Beth pops her head in. "you know you've just scared my girlfriend for life." she says laughing. "we were fully clothed, but may not of been if she came in five minutes later." Beth just hits me. "that's a shared couch asshole. Bad enough having to hear you let alone sit where you've done the nasty." Beth says with a screwed up face. "shut up you're just as bad. You think we don't hear you guys?" I say raising my eyebrow and smirking. Beth's face drops and she doesn't reply. Ha got you now meado. "youse all ready to go?" Beth says sitting down. "yeah all packed up, will be leaving in about ten minutes. You got much planned with viv whilst we are away?" "no, not really. Think we are going out for dinner tomorrow with mccabe and Little-John, we are going to tell them about us." Beth says happily. So far it's only Riley and myself that know about her and viv. "to be honest it's good to tell them because they have been very open and honest that they are together and it gives you the chance to ask them about how it is for them dealing with it all. I mean me and Riley are public but we aren't in the same team or international team together. In fact she isn't even invovled in football so it is different. Plus it was made out to be a huge deal because it was also the same time Riley announced she was 'cooper'. I think it's good to let the closest people to you know. It gives you a bit of support." I'm so happy for Beth and viv. I can't believe I didn't see it before but I'm glad I do know because it means they can be themselves in their own home. "thanks leah. I appreciate you saying that. I think we are just worried about how our exs and fans will feel." "why does it matter what they feel? You are both single. No one decides your life or happiness. Yeah our fans have relationships they support and when they end and you get with other people it makes them compare the two relationships and favour one over the other but if they are true friends and fans they'll focus on your happiness and your performance on the pitch. If you're shit on the pitch then yeah fair enough." I say making light of her worries. Beth laughs at it which I'm glad. "you're a dick sometimes, you know that." Beth says shaking her head. "yeah but I'm your dick so..." I say with a smile and give Beth a hug. I truly am greatful I have Beth in my life. She's one of my best friends and someone I call family. I want nothing but happiness for her. "you ready to go babe?" Riley comes in. "oh aye I see how it is. I leave for two minutes and you can't keep your hands off each other." she continues. "what can I say kiddo. I'm a catch." Beth says and we all laugh. "hey that's fine. I'll just stay here with Viv for the weekend and you two can have your romantic getaway." Riley says with a smirk. I snap my head down at her and so does Beth. "absolutely not, you're coming with me. Let's go." I say taking her hand and leaving quickly before she can change her mind. "bye guys see you on Monday." I say before basically running out the front door. "calm down babe I was just kidding. I want to spend this weekend with you. I'm not going anywhere." Riley says calming my nerves. "I know but I do get worried you'll decide against going or someone will call us and ruin our plans." yeah im talking about Sony. Everytime me and Riley have any time together they call her and end up roping her into doing podcasts or live streams to promote this new album which I'm so proud of her for, but sometimes It can be frustrating and ruin our plans so we both agreed this weekend we weren't dealing with work but Riley did tell Sony that the album will be ready next week so that made them cut her a bit of slack. "no one's ruining anything Lee. I'm all yours all weekend and you're all mine." she says kissing my cheek. I smile down to my beautiful girlfriend. How'd I get so lucky?

Riley p.o.v

"hey mum... Hey dad." leah says as we enter her family home. "hey, good morning" I say to them. "hello beautiful girls. Did you have breakfast?" Amanda asks. "we had some cereal earlier." leah answers. "do you want to grab some lunch on the way up?" "yeah sounds good mum, if we go the now we can stop off around one for lunch." leah looks at the time on her phone but then pulls a face. "what's wrong?" I say knowing she's not happy about something. "nothing." is all she replies and puts her phone away. I know she doesn't want this trip to be ruined but I don't want her to hide anything if its bothering her. I don't push her to tell me so I just nod.

We leave the Williamson household and head off to the lake district. I can't wait to go and spend some time with leah and her family. We need this time together, we've been so stressed out the last few weeks and I have barely seen leah apart from late at night or in bed. We stop off at a cafe and order some lunch. Leahs spoke to me the whole drive but I still know there's something bothering her. When we get back in the car I decide to try and ask her again. "leah?" "Riley?" "what's wrong?" I see leahs face drop and I know she's not telling me something. "I dont want to ruin this weekend." "and it won't be ruined. Unless you aren't, coming nothing will ruin this." I say a little worried that she might actually not be coming. "no I'm definitely coming, of course I am. It's just I got a message from my trainer asking me to do some drills over the weekend but I'll call them and tell them im having down time." "no don't do that I can help you? We can do it together?" leahs face brightens up and she looks at me. "really you'd that?" "leah id do anything for you." I say back. "I love you." "I love you more lee... But don't be thinking I can keep up with you, I may pass out after the first drill but as long as I'm still breathing you keep going." I say making leah laugh.

We arrive at the lake district and its breathtaking. We have a lodge with a hot tub and a decking overlooking the water. "wow, leah. This is beautiful." "it's not L.A style but it's definitely amazing." leah says. "this is better than L.A" it absolutely is. Don't get me wrong being in America was a great experience for me but leah hated every minute of it. Here we are peaceful, here we are happy.
"come on beautiful, let's get this Weekend started." leah says handing me a vodka & coke. "let the fun commence." I say taking the drink.

"oh baby the fun doesn't start till we are in the hot tub."
