Hidden Spark on Earth II (TFP)

Chapter 14

As they walk out of the vortex in a very open area by a road and some buildings, Optimus saw Wheeljack kneeling by a large boulder. The wrecker had a smile on his face, though it quickly dropped when he saw Megatron walking behind Optimus. The wrecker's shoulder had a bit of damage to it from a blast, though it was nothing that couldn't be dealt with. Optimus turned his head to see the opposing con. Dreadwing had noticed them too, and he was as stunned as Wheeljack to see Megatron with the autobots.

"What in the All Spark is going on?" Wheeljack asked loudly as he narrowed his optics at Megatron. "Since when did you decide to play nice with the autobots, huh?" He glanced at Knockout and Breakdown for a moment before glancing at Dreadwing. He could see the confused expression on the con's face. "Uhh...should we continue?"

Dreadwing did not respond to the wrecker as he was standing with a confused expression. Seeing his master with Optimus Prime and the autobots was not what he expected when arriving on this planet. Megatron approached him calmly while Optimus and Bulkhead walk over to Wheeljack to check how damaged his shoulder is as it was still smouldering a little from the blast that had hit him.

"Stand down, Dreadwing," Megatron ordered the decepticon in a stern tone. "There is no need to be fighting out here. You are drawing a lot of attention to yourself."

Dreadwing lowered his weapon as he listened to his master. "I do not understand what is going on." He glanced at the Prime curiously for a moment before looking back at Megatron. "Has the war finally ended?" The silver mech nodded. "It seems you and the Prime have a truce...I had no idea..." He dropped to one knee and bowed respectfully to Megatron. "Forgive me, master. I had been chased across galaxies as I travelled to this world after feeling the passing of my twin."

Megatron widened his optics in surprise. "You felt his passing?" He grimaced a little at his question. "Foolish question...you have a bond that stayed with you from the time your were born...I should have known. But know it wasn't because of malice. Starscream awoke your brother from his slumber and foolishly thought that Skyquake would be loyal to him."

"Was it Starscream who killed my brother?" Dreadwing asked as he rose to his feet slowly.

"No. I'm afraid Skyquake perished by Optimus..." Megatron watched the con tense and he stepped forward to place a hand on his shoulder to stop him from attacking Optimus. "However, Optimus had not wanted to kill your brother. He offered a peaceful solution. I wasn't available to speak with Skyquake at the time because I was on life support due to almost perishing from the destruction of our space bridge. If I was, I assure you, your brother would be alive today enjoying the peace we now have."

Dreadwing eyed Optimus angrily. Knowing who killed his brother made him vengeful. "I very much want to avenge my brother..."

"And you shall. But you shouldn't take it out on Optimus. Our truce is only fresh, and we don't need to resume our war on your brother's death. He wouldn't want that." Dreadwing could not disagree as he wouldn't want that either. "Unfortunately, your brother's grave was desecrated by Starscream when he used dark energon to raise him from the dead as his own soldier. I believe your brother's death is all due to Starscream, not Optimus."

Dreadwing listened to Megatron silently, processing the words. He glanced at Optimus again before he relaxed and put his weapon away. "I see your wisdom, master. I do not know how or when the war had ended. And I will respect that, and will not fight any further. Though I am not sure if I will want to interact with the autobots at this time."

"I am not asking you to do that," Megatron said to him in an understanding tone. "I will ask that you do not cause any further trouble. Even fighting another autobot. The war is over, and I do not want another single shot fired. We are, however, keeping a close eye on a growing human threat that may or may not be a huge threat to us."
