Chapter 64

"So, the energon is a silver with a little bit of rainbow-like energy inside the crystal?" Saphira looked up at Breakdown as he told her what the energon looked like. The con nodded affirmatively. "Kind of sounds like a special energon. Hopefully it will be something that can revive Starscream."

"Until we can even get close enough to get a sample, we are not sure what qualities the crystal even has. I also hope for Scream to be revived. He definitely deserves to have another chance." Breakdown sat down and smiled. "If it is the energon that can do that without the same affects as dark energon, I think it will be a great thing. We could call it the life energon or something."

Saphira smiled at him. "That is a good name, but I think until I see this energon and if we can get a sample..." She jumped when a bridge vortex opened suddenly in the lobby. "Huh, Shockwave must be returning from having his arm checked and repaired." Saphira was right. Shockwave walked through the vortex with a cast on his arm. She smiled at him. "How is your arm, Shockwave? From what I've heard from how you were burned, it's almost like third degree burns in humans."

Shockwave looked down at Saphira. "My arm will heal. It was not the external damage that needed repair. It was the internal nerves of my protoform that needed repair. It is very illogical for energon to cause such damage to a Cybertronian. I have returned as I believe that we should still get a sample and study the energy."

"Are you sure when that arm was worse than you first thought?" Breakdown asked, gazing at the con's cast with a frown. "That sounds awfully painful to me. It is strange for energon to even do that. I'm worried how it would affect humans if they touch it."

"I do not think any human will be affected, except Saphira. She's the only one with Cybertronian CNA, and her skeleton also possesses some of our metal components, based on what Saphira told Optimus. It's logical she might not be harmed due to her human nature...but..." Shockwave glanced at Jack, who was sitting on Smokescreen's shoulder and listening. "If Saphira cannot touch it, we may require human assistance with the retrieval of this energon. Would you be able to assist, Jack Darby?"

Jack nodded. "Of course! I'll do my best to help."

The doors to the lobby opened as Optimus and Megatron walk in. Megatron widened his optics in surprise when he saw Shockwave. "I am surprised that you have returned, Shockwave. I was told by the medical staff that your arm is going to take longer to repair."

"It is true my wounds will take longer to heal than I expected, but we still need to get a sample of that energon," Shockwave responder calmly. "I do not intend to touch the energon again after what it did to me, but I do believe that it can be retrieved."

"Shockwave thinks that Jack and Saphira can retrieve a sample," Breakdown said with a shrug. "I think that they can, but I also think we can simply use some tools to retrieve the energon without risking anyone else."

"I am in agreement with Breakdown," Optimus said thoughtfully as he listened and processed what was being said. "I intend to return to the location to observe the energon crystals some more, given they are not like any energon we've encountered. Even white energon is as simple as regular energon. So these crystals are certainly ones that stand out." He looked down at Saphira and smiled at her. "Before we continue, both Calytrix and Stellaxy are sleeping peacefully..." He leaned down to give her the monitor. "They both should sleep well for a few hours before they need to wake up. Plus they are both clean and in new diapers."

"I suspected that would need to happen." Saphira chuckled a little and walked over to his hand to climb onto, rather than just take the monitor. "I am still very curious about this new energon. I'd like to see it, Optimus. Even if I don't touch it. I'm really curious about it."
