One Month Later...

Finding the next three keys proved to be harder than one thought. A week into deciphering the codes, Stellaxy became just as boisterous as Calytrix. The sudden change in behavior came as a surprise, and it took all three parents by surprise in the middle of the night. It became a rather unending battle, and at first, they thought that Stellaxy was sick. She wasn't, she just happened to be going through a phase. It got to a point Saphira demanded to get a breast pump as both sparklings were biting hard and she just couldn't breast feed anymore.

It wasn't unreasonable, and both of her sparkmates were happy to help her feed them. Saphira did get more exhausted from using the pump, but it was necessary. There was no formula that would be good enough for the sparklings and Ratchet and Knockout were not really willing to try. They knew white energon would need to be in the formula, but they would not know what else to add to it.

With the added stress of trying to keep both calm and to get enough sleep and recharge, Optimus found it much harder to even focus on working on the last three codes. He wasn't angry at either sparklings as he knew sparklings needed attention, it was just frustrating. He did manage to decipher the second code a week ago, and now it was onto the third one.

Saphira tried finding songs that the sparklings would enjoy and calm down to. She tried You'll be in My Heart, Mother Earth and Father Time and a few other songs, though she hasn't had much luck yet. They did seem to enjoy her humming more than her singing, so she stuck to that. And it has helped a lot, but both sparklings opted to remain in either Saphira's arms or one of the two mechs hands, which was an added frustration as they seemed to want contact all the time. They just had to work with the sparklings as there was little they could do about it.

Saphira groaned as she heard the familiar cries of both sparklings through the monitor. She was in her bed as her body was aching from constantly getting up almost without rest over the last few weeks. She has had Optimus and Megatron give her some massages in an attempt to have some distress to her body, though it hasn't fully alleviated the stress.

"You stay in bed, Saphira," Megatron said with a light groan, placing his feet down on the ground from the berth.

Saphira looked up from her bed and rubbed the bridge of her nose as Megatron walked out of the room quickly. Optimus was quick to follow as the two mechs were also struggling with recharge. As Saphira had been using the breast pump, Knockout, Ratchet, Bulkhead, Breakdown and Wheeljack have all opted to assist Saphira with the twins. Though Saphira didn't want them to lose their recharge, so they got recharge through the night, though Ratchet has started waking up in the middle of the night as well.

Saphira laid on the bed as she stared at the ceiling thoughtfully. She had no idea what she could do to calm the sparklings other than just trying to work with them each time they would cry. She was running out of ideas, but she could only try and work with them. After ten minutes of just laying there, she could tell that Optimus and Megatron were feeding the twins. Saphira tried to go back to sleep, but she just could not.

She threw her blankets off her and made her way over to the kitchen to fill a glass with water to drink. She rubbed her eyes as she rests her hand on the side of the bench. She drummed her fingers thoughtfully as she sipped the water. Saphira had been well aware on how difficult babies could be, and with twins, it was certainly twice as hard. And as both twins had grown some more, Saphira did not know how much longer she could hold them properly. Despite their protoforms being metal, they weren't terribly heavy. And she was heavy with that.

She glanced at the monitor when she heard Megatron cooing to Stellaxy gently before she began to wail. She sighed deeply and finished off the water before leaving the room to head into the nursery. She knew the mechs would have wanted her to sleep, but it was hard knowing her sparklings were distressed. And it distressed her as well, even if she did want to sleep.
