Cradled within Ratchet's hand, Saphira was curled against his chassis. She had refused to lay in a gurney to be examined, so Ratchet had the task of treating her while he held her. It was awkward, but she refused to be left alone. She wanted to remain with him, or one of her two sparkmates. But Ratchet would have an even harder time trying to treat her in their hands, so Ratchet opted to hold her. And Saphira barely said anything. She was trembling and she desperately wanted a shower to scrub off the dirt from her skin.
Ratchet was scanning her throat to assess the damage to her vocal cords. He looked at results and shook his head. "I think you are going to have a bit of swelling in your vocal cords, Saphira." She did not look at Ratchet as he spoke to her. "I will give your some anti-inflammatory stuff and pain relievers. But...I think you'll have a lot of trouble eating. The only thing you can have is soup, as you won't have as much trouble swallowing it."
Optimus and Megatron were standing close to Ratchet holding the twins. Both Calytrix and Stellaxy begged to see their mother, and Saphira hugged both sparklings, but they both unintentionally hurt her with the injuries on her body. Her throat was the major concern to Ratchet, but he managed her legs due to the cuts on them and a bandage to her back from another cut from the rocks. Though he had to clean that one out as the area around the injury was warm, and it was a sign it could get infected. So Ratchet would keep an eye on it.
"At least nothing was broken," Megatron said in a soft tone. He had a weary expression and he rubbed his forehead. "Is this what you all felt like when you were fighting me?"
Optimus looked at Megatron and smiled at him. "In some way, yes." The silver mech's shoulders slump a little and he gazed down at Stellaxy. "However, this is different. We are not dealing with an intelligent leader..." Megatron looked at Optimus in surprise. "As much as we were fighting, there was still respect for you, Megatron. It wasn't until you started to show more extreme violence towards us and the humans of this world, I began to see you as a monster. Until Saphira came along and melted that exterior."
The silver mech smiled, appreciating the words from Optimus. "Well...since you put it that way...I feel a little better..." He grimaced a little and looked over to Ratchet. Both he and Optimus were shaken. They both felt the pain on Saphira's neck, and feeling her slowly lose her breath and fight was not a feeling they wanted to experience again. "He's worse than any of the beasts I've faced in the gladiator ring...he went for her..."
"I know...I thought Galvatron would want to fight us..." Optimus had also thought Galvatron would simply snag the key and flee. But he didn't. He was going for the kill. "I hope that the last key is somewhere that does not require human aid...we do not need to put Jack or Fowler in that kind of danger either."
Megatron huffed loudly. "Pfft...I am not going to let a human do it next time! I will have my vehicons dig into the very Earth to reach the last key! I will not risk anyone else...especially..." Megatron looked at Saphira as she looked at him and his optics quiver for a moment before a tear drop form into his right optic and rolled down his cheek. Saphira was a little surprised as she has never seen Megatron or Optimus cry. "We almost lost her, Prime..." He turned his head to look at Optimus. "I felt it..."
Optimus completely understood his feeling. "Yeah..." He looked at Saphira before looking down at Calytrix. Both twins had calmed down and were simply laying against their chassis's. Optimus knew that the twins would have felt that. He hoped it would not affect them too much. "Caly..." The sparkling looked up at him with weary, minty optics. "I have something special to ask of you."
Calytrix's optics widen and she smiled at him. 'What is it, daddy? Are we going to do something special for mama?'
Optimus smiled and nodded. 'Yes. Your mother went through something horrible, and I think we need to do something to help her. I think we should make her something.'
