Hidden Spark on Earth II (TFP)

Chapter 57

Saphira and Optimus move their lips away from each other. She stared into his beautiful optics as tears fill her eyes. She felt all of her mixed emotions from today finally spill. She couldn't stop them and she threw her arms around his neck, even though her arms could barely wrap around it. Especially now with his upgraded appearance. She began sobbing uncontrollably and her body trembled as she hugged him. Optimus cupped his hand around her as she sobbed, allowing her to let out all of her pain that has been mounting throughout this whole time. He knew letting it out would be the best thing for her.

Optimus walked towards the incubators and looked into them, smiling as he saw both Stellaxy and Calytrix safe and unharmed within him. They both were crying and declaring their discomfort, but he completely understood. Galvatron almost killed them. He glanced to the hole he had made in the side of the ship after blasting into Galvatron. He knew that the ship was going to take a long time to repair, and he caused damaged to it. But it was better than losing the very thing that he loved.

Kneeling slightly, Optimus carefully picked both incubators up into the palm of his hand and stood up, walking out of the room. As he entered the hallway, he is met with Ratchet, Knockout and Megatron running towards him with worried faces. When they see Optimus unscathed with Saphira hugging him and the incubators in his hand, they were extremely relieved.

"Oh my...I had worried I would be too late!" Megatron said in relief as he walked towards Optimus, glancing at Saphira and the incubators with worry. "They are alright! Thank the All Spark! Thank Primus!" He smiled and looked up at Optimus. "I see you have made some significant improvement to yourself."

Optimus smiled at Megatron and nodded. "It would seem I have. If it weren't for Smokescreen intuition on remaining behind and assisting me after the blast hit the base, I do not think I would be here. Nor would Saphira and the sparklings." He glanced down slightly as Saphira continued sobbing into his neck and he had no intention of stopping her. "I had him retrieve the Forge after you crash landed on the Earth."

"And you used it to repair your wounds..." Ratchet walked up to him with a big smile on his face. "And boy...we really needed you, Optimus. Galvatron pulled no punches. He had Mech kidnap Agent Fowler's daughter in an attempt to force us in handing Saphira and the sparklings over."

Optimus widened his optics in shock. "He did what?" He was in such disbelief that it took him by surprise. "I guess it goes to show that no matter what kind of being you are, there will always be a monster among the race. One that will go to great lengths to get what they want. Yet I will always hold the belief that every sentient being has the capacity for change." He looked down at Megatron with a smile. "You have proven that over the last year, Megatron."

"It would seem that I did arrive at a point in time that I thought I would never see." Optimus glanced up in surprise when he heard a familiar voice and smiled when he saw Ultra Magnus approaching him. The commander glanced down at the human girl in Optimus's hand and the two incubators in the other. "I will admit, I thought I was hearing things from Arcee when she told me that the war was ended..." Saphira turned her head and gazed at the new autobot. She almost had a double take as Ultra Magnus looked very similar to Optimus. "Now hearing from you that Megatron has indeed changed, I guess that my judgement of hearing the confirmation from you, sir, was the right course of action." He glanced at the human girl again for a moment out of curiosity. "Who is this human, sir? She appears to be huddling against you like she is your sparkmate."

"This is Saphira, Ultra Magnus..." Optimus glanced down as Saphira turned slightly to face Ultra Magnus, wiping the tears from her cheeks as she was still crying softly. "You would be right now notice how she is letting out the pain she has felt over the last several hours. She is indeed my sparkmate...just as she is also Megatron's sparkmate..." The commander widened his optics and glanced at Megatron in surprise. "We can thank Primus for Saphira's existence."
