Laying on a familiar gurney with her sparkmates close by, June moved around Saphira to attach the different equipment on her. She attached the patches to her body to reach her immune system, another set of patches to read the nutrition levels in her system and the last patches on her stomach that would read the health of the sparklings, and show an ultrasound. Saphira couldn't help but feel nervous and excited at the same time. She was actually holding Megatron's finger at the moment, she had refused to let go after he placed her on the bed, and the mechs realized Saphira was simply after comfort. And that is what they intended to provide to her.
The three children had been in the med bay before, but Saphira had asked them to leave. She didn't really want them to see her in a vulnerable state. Miko protested, though Jack and Raf respectfully leave the med bay, dragging the girl along with them. It made Saphira relax a bit more, but her hand remained around Megatron's finger as June got the blood pressure patch prepared.
Ratchet typed on a console to bring up Saphira's immune system and nutritional levels first as he wanted to see what was happening with that. Knockout was waiting patiently to turn on the machines that would read the sparklings' health and turn on the ultrasound. "Alright, let's see what your system is doing first..." Ratchet looked at the screens as they bring up images of Saphira's body. He rubbed his chin thoughtfully. "There is no sign of illness, that is good. Though your heartrate is up a little, I assume due to nervousness right now. Your immune system is all in the clear it seems."
"That is good news," Optimus comments as he looked at the screen curiously. He glanced at Saphira with a smile as June wrapped the blood pressure patch around Saphira's arm. "Hopefully your blood pressure hasn't gone up from the stress."
"If it has, there will be things we can do to reduce the blood pressure," June said softly as she pressed the button to turn on the blood pressure patch. Saphira winced as the patch tightened around her arm.
Ratchet typed on the console a little as he read through what was on the screen. "Hmm...the white energon levels seem to be fine. But...the sparklings still appear to be draining you of calcium, protein and iron, everything seems to be good..."
"But I hate eating a lot of meat now," Saphira protested bluntly with a frown. "I don't even like fish right now..."
Ratchet looked at Saphira with a smile. "I know. You're stressed, and I think that is why you don't feel like eating. But I know once the stress fades, the need to eat should come back. The sparklings need these nutrients. And even with the supplements and vitamins that June has been having you take, it seems you still need these three in particular. I know you have been having ice cream, and that's fine for calcium, but protein and iron is where you need to improve."
"Okay..." Saphira wasn't exactly thrilled by that, but she was also not going to argue either. She looked at June who removed the blood pressure patch after writing down the reading. "What about my blood pressure?"
"It is a bit high..." June didn't look at Saphira as she put the equipment away. "But that isn't something to be hugely concerned right now. If it gets higher, it might. It can be managed right now though."
"Could it be connected to the stress she's going through?" Knockout asked curiously.
"If she was stressed for longer than two days, then yes. But blood pressure can change a lot during a pregnancy, and this really is not a surprise to me at all." June looked at Saphira kindly. "At least that is one less thing to really worry about. It is manageable. Now we can check on your dear sparklings and see how they are doing, aside from kicking you."
Knockout grinned, amused that Saphira was feeling the sparklings kick. He had no doubt they would eventually feel very uncomfortable, and she would be complaining to them all about it. He wouldn't exactly blame her. He typed on the console to bring up an image of the health and nutrition intake of the sparklings. He then brought up the ultrasound, Saphira was immediately staring at the image with a smile on her face.
