Hidden Spark on Earth II (TFP)

Chapter 9

After returning to base, Saphira remained close to Optimus. She felt the need to remain close to him due to the sadness she felt from Megatron as he kissed her and spoke to her stomach. Saphira would definitely hate it if it was Optimus in Megatron's position. Optimus was surprised that Saphira wanted to remain on shoulder when be offered to let her off. He soon realized why, and it both warmed and saddened his spark.

He didn't mind though. He actually considered taking Saphira for a drive as he was sure she would enjoy some alone time. But he had Ratchet scan the spark extra to locate the source of the signal, and it was discovered that there was indeed an Iacon homing beacon on it that had given off the alert. Ratchet assumed other Iacon relics could have the same beacon, and they will know when Megatron unearths another. And they didn't know if Megatron will eventually want to take one relic for himself, though Saphira doubted he would.

Megatron had sent them a message regarding what he has already learned about Mech through the surveillance they have started to do on them. Finding out that they were searching for a way to transform their prototype was not good. Because only the Cybertronians possessed the necessary item within them that allows then to scan vehicles and to transform.

It was actually another surprise for the autobots that Megatron would send this kind of information, and Optimus told everyone that they needed to be vigilant when they are on patrol and going through the ground bridge, just in case Mech is waiting to pounce on them. As far as they knew, Mech weren't aware of their base location...but given they kidnapped June, they were likely aware of the area they were in.

Saphira spent another hour with Optimus, she spent time talking to him through the link and letting him know her thoughts and feelings. She knew it was hard for him to see her spend time with Megatron, but Optimus did see her love for him. It was strong, and he promised her that they could go to the island where white energon had been found. Saphira was happy about that, even though it was Megatron who took her there first. But, she would not mind Optimus taking her there at all. She could eventually see the two mechs going there with her to spend time with her.

After that, she got off to eat and use the bathroom, but remained close to his presence. Optimus remained in the lobby as he and Ratchet scanned for any further Iacon beacons that Megatron may trigger. In the meantime, Bulkhead and Bumblebee set out for patrol to keep watch of any Mech activity. Saphira thought it was a bad idea, but she was not able to stop that from happening as the bots went out for patrols regularly.

Saphira was sat by Jack as Arcee spoke about the tips Knockout had given her regarding to bot self care. "As much as the con is...well a con, he has offered some pretty good advice. I have actually been able to slow down and relax thanks to his tips."

"Is that why you told me not to go into your berth room yesterday,?" Jack asked with a smirk.

Arcee nodded. "Yes, I was sitting in a bath mixed with wax and a solution that Knockout had given me. I didn't mean for it to come off as though I was angry. I was just surprised that someone disturbed me after I specifically said that I didn't want to be disturbed."

The boy chuckled softly. "I feel bad for ruining it, honestly. Next time I will know not to bother you."

Saphira giggled softly as she listened to the two of them speak. "Sounds to me that it really wasn't so bad to have Knockout around. He's given you some good tips, I think he's tried giving tips to Optimus to mend the scratches on his body and I think he has gained some trust with Ratchet. Even if the medic wouldn't admit it."

"Yeah...I admit I have a bit of trust for the guy, too," Arcee said slowly, glancing at Optimus and Ratchet briefly, though they were not paying attention to the conversation. "I guess he will probably be the first one to gain trust around here. I can see why you trust him, Saphira."
