Hidden Spark on Earth II (TFP)

Chapter 78

Saphira sat at the table after she placed the sparklings on a chair next to her. She was glad that both girls would not slip off the chair, though she did wish there was a highchair available for them. Though she would be watching closely, as will Miko. Even though they had not known Miko for very long, the sparklings seem to really like Miko. That was a good thing. Miko has been good with them the whole time.

Saphira had filled a bowl with cut slices of apples, pears, strawberries and she had peeled a banana to cut it half for the girls to try. And Fowler had finished cooking the steak, chicken drumsticks and sausages, and placed them onto a tray for people to serve themselves. Saphira filled a plate with a drumstick, steak and salad, which consisted of coleslaw, carrot, lettuce, cheese and a boiled egg.

She walked back to the table to place it down and both sparklings were looking at the food and sniffing curiously. Saphira looked at them with a smile. "What do you want to try first, girls?"

Miko sat beside Saphira and looked at the sparklings with a grin. Both sparklings were unsure. "I know you girls will love the food. It is exciting to try something new."

Stella just frowned and had a worried expression. But Caly pointed at the fruit in the bowl. Saphira grabbed it and held it so she could see. "Which fruit do you want to try? There's apple, pear, strawberries and banana."

Optimus and Megatron were watching curiously, as was Ratchet. They were interested to see how the sparklings would go with eating food. Caly lifts her hand and thought about what she wanted to try. She had seen her mother eat food more than once, so she wanted to try. She picked up a pear slice first and sniffed it. She mumbled something before she bit into it and chewed.

Her optics light up and she giggled excitedly before biting another bit to chew. 'It's yummy!'

Saphira chuckled as she watched Calytrix eat the slice. She was happy the girl did not shove the fruit into her mouth and was taking her time to eat it. She looked at Stella and saw the sparkling was curious now and reached out to the bowl. "Pick on, Stella. I know you will love it."

Stella grabbed the banana slice and Saphira knew she would love it. When Stella bit into it, she was surprised by how soft it was and she widened her optics, surprised by how it tastes. She giggled and began to eat it happily. Saphira glanced up at Ratchet as he scanned the sparklings while they ate to see if there was something to be concerned about. However, when the results came back quickly, he gave a thumbs up to Saphira and she was happy.

"At least they love the fruit." Miko bit into her piece of steak as she watched curiously. "Hopefully, they will like vegetables." Saphira nodded as the girls enjoyed the fruit. Calytrix grabbed the other banana half to eat now that she saw Stella enjoy it. "I loved my vegetables as a kid. But I know it's a food that they will figure out what they do and don't like."

The sparklings look at the girl curiously and glance at Saphira. She smiled at them. "I do have carrot here they can try..." Saphira grabbed a slice from the plate and showed it to the girls. "Carrot sticks are my favorite to chew on anyway, especially with some dip or dressing."

Caly grabbed the carrot stick and sniffed it before making a face. She tilts her head curiously before taking a bite of the carrot. She chewed with a thoughtful face and shrugged, seemingly enjoying the vegetable. Stella grabbed an apple slice from the bowl and seemed uninterested in the other food for the moment.

"At least you are going to have them eat healthy food before any chocolate or ice-cream. Do you think you'll let them try some of that?" Miko didn't know if Saphira intended to let them try things like that.

"Maybe when they're older. They don't need anything like that. Who knows..." Saphira shrugged a little and smiled. "Maybe on their first birthday, we can introduce something to them. Maybe a chocolate cake."
