Hidden Spark on Earth II (TFP)

Chapter 74

Saphira was sitting on the med berth in the Harbinger med bay with scrutinizing optics gazing at her from her sparkmates, Ratchet and Knockout. She had her arms folded as Ratchet scanned her body for any sign of what could have caused the very runny nosebleed. She knew he would not find anything. She was just annoyed he wasn't letting her clean herself up right now. Dreadwing and Ultra Magnus were in the med bay as they were worried about her and wanted to listen in on what might be wrong with her. Especially as they were the ones to discover this has happened.

"Hmm...I am not finding anything strange..." Ratchet frowned as he looked at the results, seemingly confused by the results. He looked at Saphira who didn't seem surprised by this. "Is this the first time this has happened?" She shook her head and sniffled. The medic widened his optics in concern. "When was the last time this happened?"

She sighed deeply and looked at Ratchet. She typed on the tablet and showed him what she had written. Yesterday...it was the first time is has happened too. He frowned deeply in concern and she shrugged. I am not really sure why...but after I cleaned up, it seemed to stop.

"That was why I couldn't find you yesterday, wasn't it?" Ratchet asked bluntly, unimpressed that Saphira did not tell him about it. She looked away without answering and he turned away to grab some cloths to finally begin cleaning the blood. "I am surprised you would not have come to me straight away, Saphira. If this hasn't happened before without a good reason, it means something is wrong. If it happens again, I will ask June about it. Your nose isn't injured, so there is no reason why it is happening."

Ratchet turned back around with the cloths and Saphira grabbed one to begin wiping the blood from her face. Knockout walked over with a hum and leaned over the med berth. "Would you mind lifting your shirt, Saphira?" She turned to the con in surprise. "I want to check on the injury."

Saphira shrugged and lifts her shirt with her left hand while using the right to keep cleaning her face, though Ratchet helped as he transformed his hands into smaller hands to help and to not make Saphira flinched due to the size of his fingers. She let him help while she felt Knockout gently peel off the bandage covering the wound.

Knockout widened his optics in shock. "By the All Spark..." Ratchet looked at Knockout in surprise and saw that the con looked worry. "This injury is really infected..." He looked at Ratchet and gestured for him to look. "It's inflamed and pus is oozing out."

Optimus and Megatron walk over in concern as Ratchet shifted to look at it. Ratchet widened his optics. "Oh my...I am surprised you are not feeling sick yet, Saphira..." She turned her head to look at him as Ratchet looked at Knockout. "Get some antibacterial ointment..." He placed his hand just on the edge of the wound and Saphira hissed in pain as it was very tender. "Sorry, Saphira. I don't want to hurt you." He looked at it closely as Knockout grabbed the ointment. "We will need to clean this first..."

Saphira frowned and looked at Optimus and Megatron with a frown. 'But it is going to hurt...I thought it was aching because it was healing.'

Optimus hummed softly and looked at Ratchet. "Saphira will likely be in some discomfort when you do that Ratchet. And we have noticed it has been aching, but she believed that it was healing, not the other way around."

Ratchet tapped his fingers on the berth thoughtfully and moved around to look at the injury more closely. He scanned it and pressed his lips together. "The infection has begun to spread..."

"Why is it spreading?" Megatron asked in a worried tone, making the medic look at him in surprise. "With Optimus and I very close...I would have assumed that she would be healing very well. Why is she not healing as well as we thought?"
