Chapter 47

Upon arriving on the Nemesis, they were greeted with Shockwave, Dreadwing and Starscream waiting for them. Soundwave was not present, but he was still working on improving the ship's scanning technology, and they all knew he was close to improving the system. Soundwave had been frustrated that it took longer than he thought, but the ship's damage itself could have had something to do with Soundwave's slow progress in improving the sensors, but he was almost finished and they will be definitely helpful in scanning Mars for Mech's mine on the planet.

"It brings my spark joy today, Lord Megatron," Starscream said enthusiastically with a big grin on his face. He bows slightly to Megatron before gesturing to Shockwave. "We have really good news for you."

"Please, do tell us about it, Shockwave," Megatron smiled at the large con as he approached him. "We have no time to waste at all."

Shockwave turned to walk while the others followed him. "My work on the Mech robots have proven to be successful. I am impressed with how they have managed to create such an advancement for a race of beings like themselves. However, they are logically an insult to our own kind and their technology is far less superior to our technology."

"Were you able to use the bots to locate the bases Mech has on Earth?" Ratchet asked curiously.

"Not exactly. In fact, I was able to access the communication's system the Mech bot has. I have been able to record communications between the bases and I have had to scan the signals that the bots have to locate potential Mech bases throughout the planet. Majority are within North America..." Shockwave turned his head to look at Megatron. "And I have potentially narrowed down the locations where Saphira might be held. Given your last confrontation with Mech, there are several bases nearby that could be where she is currently held."

"That really narrows down the places she could be at," Breakdown said happily as he listened to Shockwave. "Is Mech even able to detect these bots are online again?"

"No, I have managed to isolate their signals to keep them hidden from Mech's scanners. This will allow me to work on using the bots system's to locate each individual base without using the com link so we may have precise accuracy on where we will hit them." Shockwave was very pleased with progress, and it clear in his tone of voice. "Now that we are able to listen in on their communications, it is likely we can figure out their plans before they can do anything about them."

"Were you able to pick anything significant that we should care about?" Optimus asked curiously as he listened carefully to Shockwave.

"There might be...but...I think you will not like it." Shockwave could sense the immediate worry around him as soon as he told them. "I do have a question that might very well answer what I will tell you. What is a bone marrow in a human, Ratchet?"

Ratchet and Knockout were both surprised by the question. "Umm...the bone marrow in humans is at the center of human bones. It is a soft, spongy tissues that has many blood vessels and there are two types of bone marrow...they both have important functions to the body. Why are you asking? I am not sure I like where this is leading..."

"Then what I am about to tell you is going to disturb you. It would be not different if someone was trying to reach into the center of our own protoform limbs for a similar reason." Shockwave turned into the door of his lab. It was a large lab with multiple consoles and on a large berth were several Mech bots. These bots had everything removed except the vital systems that Shockwave had been working on. "There was a message from a doctor called Ethan looking for something to harvest bone marrow directly without surgery, and even scrap bone tissue directly...and even the nerves."

Ratchet widened his optics wide and was immediately worried. "They have already found something about her."

"And you have claimed you have not found anything else about her body that might make her a little different to other humans. It is logical that you would not want to experiment without her consent, especially if she believes she is as normal as other humans. I believe otherwise..." Shockwave walked over to two consoles and types on both of them. One brought up a map of central America where Saphira had been taken, and another of the human body. "I suspect they might have discovered something on the x-ray she had last week. Our own skeletal structure would appear different on the human x-ray."
