Mason's P.O.V.
I escort Sheriff Forbes and her deputies, to the underground cellar. "It's down the stairs to the left." I say. The two deputies, who were carrying the Salvatore brothers on their shoulders, head down the stairs. "Careful. Bullets and Vervain won't keep them down for long. What is this place?" Sheriff Forbes asks, looking to me. "Old slave quarters from the original Lockwood house." I say, before escorting her down the stairs, into the cellar. Once we reach the bottom, I see the deputies drop the brothers onto the ground. "Thank you, Mason. I appreciate all you've done. We've got it from here." She says, as they reload their bullets. Just to be sure we're on the same page.. "Hey, you're gonna kill them, right?" I ask. I need to make sure Tyler and Rae are safe.. "Yes. That's why you should go. I'm here as The Council, not The Law. You can't be a party to this. It's for your own protection." She says. "Liz, I don't care abo--" she cuts me off. "Yes, but I do, and I'm not asking. Goodbye, Mason." She says. I sigh and head towards the stairs, but stop, and turn back around. "Don't take any chances." I warn her, earning an understanding nod. With that, I leave them behind.
Damon's P.O.V.
As I begin to come to, I feel someone kick my leg, right before shooting me in my thigh, earning a pained cry from me. "This is how it's gonna work. Answer me and you don't get shot, understand?" The voice of Liz finds my ears. Dammit. It's The Council. That a**hole set us up! I look towards the still unconscious Stefan. Still not awake, damn.. "How many of you are there?" Liz asks, catching my attention. "Liz, please.." I say weakly. She shoots my other leg, making me yell in pain. "How did you fool us? How do you walk in the sun?" She asks. I don't answer. Seeing this, she shoots Stefan in the chest, making me look towards him. Stefan...dammit..! "I will drag this out painfully." She warns. I slowly look towards her. "But you're my friend.." I say weakly. This seems to affect her, but she quickly hides it. "Our friendship was a lie. Answer me and I'll kill you fast." She says. I remain silent. Liz sighs and looks to her deputies.
"He's not gonna tell us anything. Kill them both. Let's do this. Each with a stake in the heart, then burn them both." Liz says, right before the creaking of the iron gate, catches their attention. Liz looks to one of the deputies. "Check it out." She orders. The deputy nods and heads for the gate, with Liz following right behind him. However, the moment the deputy reaches the gate, he's hit in the head with a wooden board, and falls to the ground. What..? Just as I think that, Elena runs inside the gate, immediately coming to a stop once she sees the gun pointed at her. "Elena, what are you doing?" Liz asks shocked. Elena..
"You can't kill them, I'm not gonna let you!" Elena says, right before the deputy she hit, pushes her into the cell with us, pulling out his gun as well. That's when a rushing sound, catches their attention, closing the door behind them. They all look towards the closed door, before looking back to Elena. "What was that? Who else is with you?" Liz asks. However, before Elena can answer, Caroline comes up behind the deputy pointing the gun at Elena, and bites into his neck. The other deputy tries to shoot her, but she hides behind the deputy she had attacked, making him get shot instead. Caroline throws the deputy that is shot, onto the ground, before rushing over to the shooter, attacking him as well. Once both are incapacitated, Caroline slowly walks towards the light, making eye contact with her shocked mother. "...hi, mom.." is all Caroline says, clearly sad she had to reveal she was a Vampire.
A few hours later..
Mason's P.O.V.
I pace back and forth, as the phone rings, before sending me to voice-mail. Dammit, voice-mail. "Hey Sheriff, it's Mason Lockwood. I just wanna make sure everything went okay today. I didn't see you later and.." I trail off once I hear the front door open, revealing Rae. She can't know what happened today.. With that thought, I sigh. "Just...give me a call, will you?" I say, before hanging up, and hiding my worry behind a smirk. "Hey, there you are. How'd your day go?" I ask, as she walks over to me. "Couldn't find Tyler all day, so I figured I'd check here last. Have you seen him?" She asks, stopping at my side. As if on queue, Tyler walks out of the study, stopping in the doorway. "Hey." I say, before seeing his expression. He was clearly shaken up. "There you are, where the hell have you been?" Rae asks relieved, before noticing his expression as well. "What's wrong..?" She asks immediately concerned. Tyler sighs, placing his hands in his pockets.
"I...almost killed a girl today.." Tyler says, clearly shaken. Our eyes widen immediately, and I take a step forward. "What..?" I ask worried. "It was an accident...I was...being stupid. She's okay though." He says. Hearing this, I sigh in relief. "But...there I was, you know..? And just for a moment...for a split second...I hoped she'd die.." he says. I shake my head. "Look, whatever this is inside me, I don't want any part of it. I don't ever wanna feel that way again. I won't...I can't." He says. "Tyler.." Rae says, trailing off, walking to his side, and gently placing her hands on his shoulder. I sigh and walk towards them, stopping in front of him. "I know. That's why your sister and I need to find that Moonstone. If we find it, we can put an end to this curse. For good." I say. "You'll never have to feel that way again Tyler. We promise. So please...if you have it, then give it to us. No more games, alright..? Trust us." Rae says softly. Hearing these words, Tyler sighs, and nods his head, before slowly reaching into his pocket, and pulling something out. Seeing what it was, I sigh in relief. "Thank you.." I say, taking it. Tyler sighs and nods his head again. "Yeah.." he says, before gently placing his hand on Rae's, giving it a slight squeeze, before walking away. We watch him go silently. Once he's gone, Rae and I exchange a relieved glance.
