Damon's P.O.V.

After Elena and Stefan's unexpected surprise visit from a not-so-dead Elijah at the lakehouse, we managed to kill him yet again, only this time, we kept the dagger inside his chest. Dropping the now dead Elijah into one of the cells in our basement, I check Elijah's pockets for any goodies. Feeling a familiar smooth rock inside one of his pockets, I smirk, and pull it out. "Look what we have here. Our little Moonstone bar of soap. I'll hold onto this." I say, standing up. "So that's it? I mean, as long as we keep the dagger in there, then he stays dead?" Elena confirms. "Pretty much." I say. "Okay then. Goodnight." She says, before leaving us behind in obvious annoyance. "So, you think anyone will come to his rescue?" I ask Stefan. "No. Unless Elena changes her mind again, I'm pretty sure we're in the clear." He says. Nodding in agreement, I pat his shoulder. "Come on, have a drink with me to celebrate." I say. Sighing, Stefan nods, and walks away. With a final look towards Elijah, I smirk, and close the cell door, before following after Stefan.

Raelyn's P.O.V.

The next day..

As I'm walking around the town square, I see a familiar face walk into the Grill with a young man. Isn't that..? I narrow my eyes, before deciding to follow after him. Maybe they can tell me what happened.. Entering the Mystic Grill, I look around for the man I just saw. When I see him and the young man walk over to a table where Stefan sat with a woman, I immediately stop in my tracks, and make a detour to a nearby booth unnoticed. Sitting down, I make sure my back is to him so he doesn't recognize me, and listen in to the conversation. "Thank you for coming." Stefan says. "I didn't want to. But my son made a case to hear you out." The familiar man says. "Bonnie said that you have information about Elijah." The boy next to the familiar man speaks. I nod my head. So he really was Elijah's Warlock...I thought so.. Now that what I suspected was true, I continue to listen in. Let's hope this is worth it.. "Elijah's dead. I'm sorry." Stefan replies. I sigh quietly, shaking my head. I had a feeling he was, when he didn't show up last night but...is he dead, dead? Or just temporarily like last time? Wasn't he supposed to be some all-powerful, wannabe Vampire God or something? There's no way he's Actually dead, right..? The sound of a chair scraping the floor near them, catches my attention, snapping me out of my thoughts. "Wait. Hear me out. We can help you. Please." Stefan says. Furrowing my brows, I listen in.

"We know Klaus has your daughter, and I'm sorry about the way I had to get that information, but it's good that we know." The woman says. I furrow my brows. "We can all work together to get her back." She continues. "How?" The boy asks. "I suspect you and Elijah had a plan to kill Klaus. Let us help you carry it out. You can trust us. I give you my word. We all do." Stefan says, earning an automatic scoff from me. "Yeah right. Their 'word' means about as much as dogs**t on a shoe.." I mumble without realizing it. Realizing I spoke that outloud, I immediately widen my eyes, and quickly cover my mouth. Freezing in place, I wait to see if they heard me. After a few moments of nothing happening, I quietly sigh in relief, and continue to listen.

After a few moments hesitation, the man speaks. "Elijah had no weapon to kill Klaus. But he believed that if a Witch could channel enough power, they wouldn't need one." He explains. Hearing this, I furrow my brow. "It was Elijah's hope, that we could find the Witch's Burial Ground somewhere in Mystic Falls. So, he disguised himself as a historian, and asked around town for any leads." The man continues. "Unfortunately, no one seems to know anything and with Elijah gone now.." He finishes. "Elijah or not, if we find that Burial sight, we might have as good a chance as any, to kill Klaus." Stefan says. "Allegedly speaking, yes." The man says. "Then we better start searching." Stefan says.

After that is said, the four of them decide to leave. Hearing their retreating steps, I watch them. Stefan and the woman I assumed to be named Bonnie leave first. I shake my head and sigh. Then the Warlock and the young man I assumed to be his son. Seeing them leave, I stand, and follow after them. They don't know these people like I do, they have to be warned about them. If things don't go their way, the Salvatore Brothers are all too happy to turn on people.. Peering out the door to the Grill, I look around for any sight of Stefan and Bonnie. Seeing they were long gone, I look around for the Warlock. After a few moments, I see them walking towards an apartment complex. Nodding to myself, I hurry after them.

I carefully open the door they entered, looking around. Seeing the coast was clear, I step inside. Now where did they go..? "What if they can find the Burial ground?" I hear the son's voice coming from upstairs. Looking up, I make my way forward. "They won't. We tried, Luka, for weeks." The Warlock says. "But we don't have a backup plan and we need to be doing everything we can to save her." The son, now known as Luka replies. "We will save her. But Elijah is the answer, not Stefan and his brother." The Warlock says. Couldn't agree more myself.. Sighing, I nod my head silently. Here goes, let's hope the Warlock recognizes me.. With that thought, I quickly climb the stairs, reaching the same floor as them. "Looks like I don't need to warn you two about them afterall.." I speak. The boy is the first to look, as he stops in their open doorway. "Who are you?" He asks confused. "Name's Rae. Your father saved me a while back." I reply, making sure to keep a comfortable distance away, so they didn't feel more threatened than already. Hearing this, the father glances out from the inside of the apartment.

Seeing the look on his face, I raise my hands in surrender. "Easy big guy, you saved my life last time we met, so I'm no threat to you." I say calmly. "What are you doing here? How did you find us?" He asks strictly. "I overheard the conversation in the Grill. I wanted to repay you for your help that night, so I came here to warn you not to trust the brothers. I would've said something earlier, but I wasn't sure if Stefan was still around. I had to play it smart. Unfortunately...that meant following you here.." I admit. "...sorry about that.." I say, rubbing the back of my neck. He narrows his eyes skeptically. "Look, I know I probably don't seem like the most trustworthy person right now. I mean, I followed you here and all.." I say. "But...I know you and Elijah were working together, and I didn't know how else to reach you." I admit apologetically. They remain silent, although the father seemed to be slightly more willing to speak now.

"You should also know, that Elijah came to me yesterday.." I admit, catching his attention. "Why?" He asks. "He told me about the dinner Damon invited him to." I explain. "Why would he come to you?" He asks. I sigh. "Because although he didn't know all the details, he knew I had my own dealings with the brothers in the past, that didn't end well. He wanted to know if he was right to suspect that they set up a trap for him." I explain. "What did you tell him?" He asks. "I told him it definitely sounded like a trap and he should keep his guard up. Especially when Damon's involved." I reply, before looking around. "But, clearly, he wasn't careful enough." I add with a sigh of defeat, motioning next to me. Even so, I can't help but wonder..

After a few moments of silence, I speak my mind. "Is Elijah...really dead..? I mean, is that even possible? He told me he's an Original, and he's already come back from the dead once before. Plus, with the way he portrayed himself as this all powerful Vampire Lord or whatever, I find it hard to believe that he's actually dead.." I trail off, before remembering their conversation just now. "And from the sound of it...you don't believe he's really dead either.." I say suspiciously. They're both silent. Seeing this, only confirmed my suspicions. "Look, Elijah and I made a deal. If he's willing to go out of his way to help my family...then I'm willing to do whatever it takes to help him." I say, crossing my arms over my chest. They're still silent. After a few more seconds, the father sighs, and motions me to follow. Nodding, I follow them inside.

Author's Note: Stay with me on this. It'll work out in the end, just trust me for now. ;)
