Katherine told us about meeting Rose, and how she had threatened to take her back to Klaus, in hopes of quelling his anger. As she finishes, Elena speaks. "Rose never ended up taking you back to Klaus, did she?" Elena asks. I scoff and shake my head. "I would've." I admit, earning a glare from Katherine. Would've saved Mason and I a whole lot of headaches, and probably his life with it.. I sigh and cross my arms over my chest, waiting for her to continue. "No. But not because she had a change of heart.." Katherine says, trailing off, and explaining how she had purposefully heavily injured herself, in hopes of dying before Klaus could get her. However, Rose stopped this by force feeding her some of her blood, which healed her instantly. So, seeing her first plan failed, she waited until Rose left the room she had thrown her in, and chose to hang herself instead. "You killed yourself?!" Elena asks beyond shocked. Katherine let's out a slight chuckle.
"Klaus needed a Human Doppelganger. As a Vampire, I was no longer any use to him." Katherine says. "But it didn't work. You didn't really escape. You've been running ever since." Elena says. Katherine rolls her eyes. "I underestimated his spirit for vengeance. Living out of a suitcase is still better than dying so he could have your blood spilled over some silly rock." Katherine says. Elena looks away, clearly disturbed by this. Katherine picks up on this, and speaks. "What's wrong? Afraid I'm right? You don't wanna die? There's another way out.." Katherine says, before cutting her wrist with her thumb nail. Seeing this, my eyes widen, and I quickly stand up straight. "What the hell do you think you're doing??" I ask shocked. She rolls her eyes and ignores me. "Better hurry Elena. Your opportunity is going, going, going, and gone.." she says, as she watches the wound heal completely, before smirking in amusement. "Unlike you, I made the other choice." She taunts.
Elena shakes her head in disappointment. "Rose and Trevor spent the last 500 years, running because you used them. Trevor just got killed! Do you even care that you ruined their lives?" Elena asks. I scoff and shake my head. "Save it Elena. You should know she doesn't give a damn about anyone but herself.." I say, glaring towards Katherine. "Oo, ouch." Katherine says mockingly, before sighing. "Gotta admit though, I never thought he would've lasted that long." She adds, flipping through the pages of her family book. Elena shakes her head in disappointment. "I can't believe you.." Elena says appalled. "I can. Afterall, its what she does.." I say, glaring at her. Katherine laughs slightly. "I was looking out for myself. I will ALWAYS look out for myself. If you're smart, you'll do the same." Katherine says, before scooting further into the tomb, to read more.
Damon's P.O.V.
"And you're sure Elijah's dead?" Slater asks skeptically. "Beyond dead." I say. Slater sighs, grabs his drink, and walks to an empty table by one of the many windows. "We need your help." Rose says, as we sit down. "If someone wanted to get in touch with Klaus, how would you hook him up?" Rose asks. "Craigslist." Slater says, making me furrow my brows. "Really?" I ask confused. "Seriously, I respond to a personal ad that gets sent to somebody, who knows somebody, who knows Elijah. Who's dead. That's where my connection ends.." Slater says. Hearing this, I sigh, and shake my head. Dammit.
