The next day..
I'm awakened from my sleep, by knocking at my door. Opening my eyes sleepily, I raise my upper half. "Who is it?" I ask, rubbing the sleep from my eyes. "Raelyn." Elijah says quietly. Hearing Elijah's voice, I quickly climb out of bed, and make my way towards the door. "Elijah, good morning." I greet, as I open the door. Hearing this, he gives a small smile. "Morning, may I come in?" He asks, looking around the hallway for anyone coming. Seeing this, I furrow my brows. "Yeah, sure, come on in." I say, stepping out of the way for him. Nodding, he enters, and I quietly close the door behind him, figuring something was up. "What's wrong..?" I ask. Instead of answering, he reaches into his jacket pocket, pulling out a small piece of paper, and holding it out to me. "I found this inside my pocket shortly after you left last night." He says. I gently take the paper out of his hand, unfolding it, and reading the contents. Reading the note silently, I furrow my brows in confusion, before looking towards the door cautiously, and stepping closer to him.
"Damon was the one to bring you back..?" I whisper. "It would seem so." He says quietly. "But, why contact you now..? He tried to kill you.." I say, still whispering. "That he did. As for his motivation, I believe he made his reason quite clear.." he says, tapping the edge of the paper I held. "Well yeah, but that's not what I meant. I mean why you, specifically?" I ask. "Because he knew I would want revenge." He says. Hearing this, I furrow my brows. "So...even after everything he did to you previously...you're still planning to meet with him..?" I ask in disbelief. "I am.." He says with a nod. Blinking a few times, I finally sigh, and shake my head in defeat. "Alright, well...then I hope you don't mind me tagging along. Afterall, the last time he invited you anywhere, you ended up daggered in his basement.." I say, crossing my arms over my chest. Chuckling, he shakes his head. "Not at all, that is why I am here. You are my 'personal bodyguard' afterall." He says, in a way that seemed almost teasingly. Hearing this, I scoff, and roll my eyes. "Alright, fine, let me get my boots.." I say with a smirk.
Half an hour later..
As we stand in the open field we were directed to, I speak. "Don't see him. Think it's a trap?" I ask looking around. "Not this time. If he is contacting me, he must be desperate." He says, looking around as well. Soon after, the sound of a distant voice finds our ears, right before we hear a few twigs break in the same direction. "Ah, makes me nostalgic for the time when Stefan was a bunny-snacking pacifist. Anyway, gotta go. More later." Damon's voice finds our ears. Soon after, he comes into view. "Let's just say I'm having tea with an old friend." Damon finishes, looking to Elijah, before hanging up, and stopping a few feet before him. "Elijah, my favorite Original, back from the dead. You clean up nice, what's the occasion..?" Damon asks, before glancing over his shoulder towards me.
"Oh, would you look at that, you even brought Kujo along. Wonderful." Damon says sarcastically. "How's the Hybrid life treating you?" He asks me with a taunting smirk. Before I can answer him, Elijah steps in the way, blocking me from view, while he pulls out the note. "You left something in my jacket pocket." Elijah says, getting him to focus back on him. "Oh yeah. 'Dear Elijah, let's get together soon and plot the destruction of your brother. XOXO..'" Damon recites and smirks. "So, was I right to undagger you, or are we gonna have a problem here." Damon asks.
Shrugging, Elijah speaks. "Well, I'm here, let's talk." Elijah says. Damon smirks, before glancing towards me again. "You sure it's smart to talk about this around one of Klaus' freaky mind slaves..?" He asks. Hearing this, Elijah glances over his shoulder towards me slightly, before looking back to him. "Raelyn will not be a problem, I assure you." Elijah says. "Just keep the daggers and stakes to yourself, and we'll be just fine Damon." I say, crossing my arms over my chest. "Noted." Damon says to me, before looking between Elijah and I. "First name basis, huh? Since when were you two so buddy-buddy..?" He asks curiously. "The note, Damon." Elijah says, deflecting the question. "Fine, fine, have it your way." Damon says with a smirk, before sighing. "Then, I'll start off with an easy question. Any idea what kind of Klaus-killing weapon could be magically sealed in a mystery coffin?" Damon asks. Hearing this, I tilt my head curiously, before looking to Elijah.
An hour later..
Soon after Damon told us about the sealed coffin he stole, he and Elijah came up with a plan to arrange a dinner, to negotiate a 'truce' between Stefan and Klaus, while Bonnie and her mother worked on opening the sealed coffin. In return for our help, Elijah requested that Damon and Stefan allow him to revive his siblings, and leave town. Hearing this, Damon happily agreed, wanting to be rid of the other Originals, just as much as Klaus. So, with the deal made, Elijah and I said our goodbyes to Damon, and left.
A few moments later..
"You sure this plan of yours will work..?" I finally ask, as Elijah and I make our way through town. "It will, do not worry." Elijah says. Hearing this, I nod my head in acceptance. "Alright, if you say so.." I say, looking around, before a thought comes to mind. Once he gets his other siblings back, he's leaving.. With this thought, I slowly come to a stop. But...if he does...where does that leave the deal he and I made..? As I'm troubled by this, Elijah notices I'm no longer following him, and stops, turning towards me. "Ms. Lockwood..?" He asks concerned. Although I hear him, I don't respond. Klaus can't be killed, which means I'll still have the Sire Bond to deal with.. "Ms. Lockwood..?" He repeats. I still don't respond. We still haven't figured out how to break the Sire Bond any other way either...does that mean he's changed his mind about helping me..? Just as this thought comes to mind, I feel him gently grab my shoulder. "Raelyn..?" He asks. Hearing my name, I finally snap out of it, and look to him. After a few moments of silence, I sigh. "It's nothing, we should probably head back.." I say. I can't expect him to put his own plans on hold, just so he can help me find an impossible cure. He's already done so much for me already.. Although skeptical, Elijah nods his head in acceptance, before leading me away. No, this time, it's my turn to help him.. With that thought, I follow after him, readying myself for what I'm supposed to do during their dinner.
