49- Creating A Rift

As Elijah walks me back to the town square, I look around, still trying to find Tyler. "Your brother will have most likely gone home. The police arrived shortly after myself, to investigate the scene." He explains, looking to me. I sigh. "Let's hope so.." I trail off with a sigh, shaking my head. "Anyway, I'm gonna go, uh...thanks again." I say, before turning, and heading in the direction of the house. "Miss Lockwood." Elijah calls out, catching my attention again. "Yeah?" I ask, looking back at him. "Remember, you and Elena are not to try contacting Klaus, until I decide otherwise." He reminds me. I nod. "Oh, you don't need to worry about that with me. Elena's the one who keeps seeking out trouble. I'm just always caught in the crossfire.." I say, remembering how she kept coming to me. "As long as you can keep her in check, there'll be no worries on the life threatening thing." I say, turning back towards my original direction, and waving over my shoulder, before leaving him behind.

A few moments later..

As I'm walking down the sidewalk, I sigh, lost in thought. Allying with an ancient Vampire...gotta say, that isn't something I ever thought I'd do.. Sighing again, I reflect back on Rose's situation. Rose is dying from a Werewolf Bite, courtesy of Jules. Jules has most definitely p****d off at least Damon. Damon isn't one to let things go. Jules has also most likely figured out Uncle Mason was killed by the brothers, which is why she would want to attack. But...why Rose..? Did Rose...get in the way of Jules' original target, or, did Rose find herself in the wrong place at the wrong time, during the Full Moon..? It could've been an accident but...knowing Jules...I highly doubt that's the case.. I lower my head, shaking it silently. Either way, Damon will most likely come for Jules guns blazing...from what I've already witnessed with Uncle Mason's death...I know Damon won't stop until she's dead...in order to keep Tyler safe, I'll have to keep him away from her..

Just as my mind is made up, someone calls out to me, stopping me in my tracks. "Rae..! There you are. I've been looking everywhere for you! What happened to you yesterday? Why'd you ditch me like that?" Jules' asks, jogging up to me. I see we're off to a fantastic start already.. I sigh, and turn towards her. "Yeah, well, my transformation started. Had to clear out of there pretty fast. Anyway, I'm late for something, so.." I trail off with a shrug, before attempting to leave. Seeing this, Jules speaks again. "Wait, hold on! Aren't you forgetting something..?" She asks, grabbing my arm. Sighing, I shake my head. "Nope, like I said, I'm late for something.." I say, trying to leave again. "Rae, stop. You and I need to talk. Now." She says strictly. Sighing in annoyance, I shake my head, and attempt to leave yet again. "Mason was killed by one of the Vampires here, wasn't he." She says, not bothering to ask.

Shaking my head in surrender, I speak. "You should leave town, while you still can." I say. Hearing this, she scoffs, before shaking her head. "I knew it.." she says, sighing, and shaking her head, before looking back to me. "So, what..? That's it? They killed Mason, and you're just gonna let them get away with it?" She asks, ignoring me. "What good would it do? Getting revenge won't bring Mason back. All it'll do, is put mom and Tyler in danger." I say. "Not if we kill the vamps first! Listen, I've already got one of them, if we work together, the other one will follow in no time." She says confidently. I shake my head. "Right, except the Vamp you got, had nothing to do with it. She just got here not too long ago. Mason was already gone by then. The Vamp that killed him, hadn't even met her until after Mason's death." I explain. "And who's this 'we' you keep mentioning? It isn't me, and it sure as hell won't be Tyler. No, you started down this path of vengence yourself, therefore, as of this moment, you're on your own Jules. Leave Tyler and I out of it. In fact, from now on, stay the hell away from us. Especially Tyler. I'll be damned, before I lose anyone else to that damn Vampire.." Is all I say, before quickly leaving Jules behind. "Sorry Rae...but you're too late.." Jules says. Unfortunately, I'm unable to hear her quiet words.
