87- Mikael

After a few moments, Klaus sees Elena looking around. Smirking, he motions for me to follow, before walking over to her, startling her. "Where's your date?" Klaus asks. "...getting me a drink." She answers, before nervously looking back and forth between us. Seeing this, Klaus' smirk grows, before offering her a bottle of alcohol. She gives him a look, which makes him shrug. "Well, it seems I have you to thank for Mikael's demise." He says. "He came at me. I didn't have a choice.." she says. "Still, I'm impressed. It's not easy for a human to dagger an Original.." he says, watching her closely. She nervously shifts her position. "It wasn't the first time, ask Rae." She says. "Right, Elijah." Klaus says, before looking around. Hearing the familiar name, a thought comes to mind. Speaking of...where has he been..? I haven't seen him at all since the morning after the ritual.. As I mull over this thought, Klaus speaks, catching my attention. "You seem nervous." Klaus says to her. "I'm not nervous. I just don't like you." Elena corrects him. "Well, I'll get straight to the point, then. People have been after me for a thousand years, and I am always one step ahead. So whatever it is you're thinking of trying, go for it. Give it your best shot. You won't succeed." Klaus says with a smirk. With that, we leave Elena behind.

Shortly after talking with Elena, Klaus decides to play beer pong with one of the other Hybrids, while he waits for Elena and them to act on whatever it is they're planning. Seeing the Hybrid named Mindy, walking towards us, I speak. "Mindy's coming." I warn him, catching his attention, just before Mindy reaches us. "You have a visitor." Mindy says. "Well, tell my visitor I'm on the brink of victory here." He says. "He said his name was Mikael." Mindy explains. Hearing this name, my eyes widen in surprise, while Klaus freezes up. After a few seconds, Klaus tightens his grip on the ping pong ball he held, anger beginning to rise on his features. As it begins to show, he sighs, and tosses the ball into a cup, before looking to me, and then to Mindy. "Then I mustn't keep him waiting. Move everyone out back. I'm gonna have a chat with my dad." He says to her. "Does that include me?" I ask. "No. You will stay with me. I can't let myself become completely unguarded, now can I?" He asks. "Alright." I say in understanding. With that, Klaus takes a drink, before looking at the Hybrid named Tony. "You know what to do." Is all he says to him, before walking away.

Reaching the door, I see a middle-aged man waiting for us. Once we get closer, Klaus tells me to stay back, before looking to him. Smiling, the older man speaks. "Hello, Niklaus." The man says. "Hello, Mikael. Won't you come in? Oh, that's right. I forgot, you can't." Klaus taunts him with a smirk. "Or, you can come outside. While you're at it, why don't you bring this woman out with you. I'd be glad if you'd allow me to introduce myself properly." The man; now known as Mikael; speaks. Klaus smirks. "Or, I could watch my Hybrids tear you limb from limb." Klaus replies, just before I see the other Hybrids walk into view behind Mikael, including the couple we just made yesterday. "They'll die trying. Afterall, they can't kill me." Mikael says. Hearing this, I look towards the Hybrids in concern. "True, but it'd make a hell of a party game. All I have to do, is rub these two fingers together, and they'll pounce." Klaus says unfazed, holding up his right hand. Mikael simply smiles at this, unbothered. "The Big Bad Wolf. You haven't changed. Still hiding behind your playthings like a coward. Oh, but you forget. They may be Sired by you, but I am an Original, and they're still part Vampire. Which means they can be compelled by me." Mikael says calmly, just before Mindy shows up at his side, holding Elena hostage.

Seeing this, Klaus' smugness immediately fades. Grabbing ahold of Elena, Mikael smiles. "Come out and face me, Niklaus...or she dies.." he says. Hearing this, my eyes widen, and I quickly look to Klaus. After it's silent for a while, I speak. "Klaus..?" I ask. Ignoring me, Klaus speaks. "Go ahead, kill her." Klaus says. Hearing this, Elena begins to panic. "No, Klaus, he'll do it." Elena says. Klaus remains silent. "If she dies, this lot will be the last of your abominations." Mikael says. "I don't need them. I just need to be rid of you." Klaus says angrily. Hearing him talk about the other Hybrids like that, shocks me. "But, Kla--" he cuts me off. "Silence!" He snaps at me, making me flinch. How can he do this..? Doesn't he care about us at all?! As I struggle with my thoughts, Mikael speaks. "To what end, Niklaus? So you can live forever with nobody at your side?" Mikael asks, his voice raising in volume. Klaus remains silent. "Nobody cares about you anymore, boy! Who do you have, other than those whose loyalty you've forced? No one." Mikael says. Hearing his harsh words, I look to Klaus in concern. As I do, I notice tears had filled Klaus' eyes. "No one." Mikael says again. Hearing this, Klaus begins to visibly shake, his eyes narrowing in anger. "I'm calling your bluff, Father. Kill Her." Klaus says, his shaking getting worse. "Come outside and face me, you little coward, and I won't have to." Mikael retorts. A tear falls down Klaus' face, as he shakes.

"My whole life, you've underestimated me. If you kill her, you lose your leverage. So go ahead. Go on, kill her." Klaus says. "Klaus, you can't be serious.." I speak in shock. Ignoring me, he continues. "Come on, old man. Kill her." He says, his face twisting in a mix of anger and pain. Mikael remains unmoving. "Kill her!!" Klaus yells. Unfazed, Mikael simply laughs in his face. "Ah...your impulse, Niklaus. It has, and will forever be, the one thing...that keeps you from truly being great.." is the last thing Mikael says, before stabbing Elena. Elena gasps in pain, making my jaw drop, as I flinch in shock and horror. Klaus opens his mouth in shock, eyes widened, as Elena collapses onto the ground. As Klaus and I stare in shock at Elena's body, someone rushes at us from behind, catching us off-guard. Before I can react, someone launches me out of their way violently, making me crash onto the ground on my side. As I am trying to raise myself, Klaus howls in pain, catching my attention immediately. Looking towards him, I see Damon slam Klaus onto the ground, and stab him in the side. "No!" I say in disbelief, just before I see Elena suddenly stand, and throw two grenades at the other Hybrids. Seeing this, I realize it was never Elena at all. It was Katherine.

Just as this revelation dawns on me, Stefan suddenly comes out of nowhere, and slams into Damon, pinning him to the ground. Seeing this, I immediately get up, and run towards Klaus, and remove the stake. The moment its removed, Klaus snatches it from my hands, and  immediately launches himself towards Mikael, stabbing the stake right into his heart. Mikael howls in pain, as they both slam to the ground outside the door. Mikael erupts into flames soon after. Klaus watches his father burn in silence. I watch on in relief from inside, until I hear Damon speak. "What the hell did you do?" Damon asks Stefan angrily. "He's earned his freedom." Klaus says, walking towards them. Hearing this, Stefan stands, and walks towards Klaus, stopping a few inches away from him. "Thank you, my friend. You no longer have to do as I say. You're free." Klaus says, compelling him. With those words, Stefan sighs in relief, closing his eyes, as he takes a few staggered steps back. The sound of a quick gust of wind, catches our attentions, and we quickly look to where Damon was, only to find he was no longer there.
