A few hours later..
"Oh, that reminds me, have you heard from Mason at all? Y'know, before your phone was broken?" Tyler asks. I stiffen slightly at this. "No...why..?" I ask. "Well, I've been calling and messaging him ever since he left. He hasn't responded to any of the voice-mails." He says. Hearing this, I quickly try to come up with an excuse. Finding one, I speak. "Wrong number maybe?" I ask. "No, I've called and texted both numbers of his. I highly doubt that's the case." He says, immediately catching my attention. "Wait, what do you mean both?" I ask worriedly. Hearing this, he shows me both numbers. As I look them over, one number in particular stands out, making my eyes widen quickly. That number..! Recognizing it, worry sets in immediately. "Uh...Tyler, how many times have you called this one..?" I ask concerned. "More than I'd care to admit.." he says. I raise a brow at his ashamed tone.
Seeing the look I gave him, he sighs. "Look, he pi**** me off, what did you expect me to do..?" He asks, holding his arms out to the sides of himself. Dammit, not good. If She finds out Mason's gone, She'll..! I quickly calm myself down, taking a deep breath. "Tyler, I need you to tell me exactly what you said in those voice-mails. It's important." I say. He raises a brow. "Why..?" He asks. "Because that number doesn't belong to Mason. It belongs to a...friend of ours." I say. Hearing this, his eyes widen. "But, why do I have the friend's number?" He asks. I sigh and massage my temples. "For a while, after we left Mystic Falls, we stayed with that friend until we found an apartment. Mason gave mom and dad the number before we left. You must've seen it back then, which is how you got it. But, that doesn't matter right now, what'd you say in the messages?" I ask again. "Well, alot of them were just cussing Mason out for abandoning us here, when he promised he'd help us. The latest one however.." he trails off, rubbing the back of his neck. "As I was watching that video of Mason's first transformation earlier, I saw how painful it was, so I called him panicking about tomorrow night, and told him, how you were nowhere to be seen.." he says. Hearing this, my eyes widen in worry. Sh*t..! If She's listened to that message already, then She'll come to Mystic Falls guns blazing..! Dammit, it isn't safe here! If Klaus comes here, while She's here.. I don't dare to finish that sentence. "How long ago did you place that call?" I ask.
"About 4 or 5 hours ago.." he says. Dammit..! There's no way She hasn't listened to it by now..! I've gotta stop her..! Snapping out of my thoughts, I grab his phone. "Rae? Hey, that's mine! What are you doing?!" He asks, trying to snatch his phone back. "Sorry Tyler, I have to call them back, before they get the wrong idea." I say, before calling the number. The phone keeps ringing. Dammit..! Please don't let it be too late..! As I think this, I'm brought to the voice-mail box. However, just as I'm about to leave a voice-mail, the robot voice says the Voice-mail box is full, before it hangs up. I sigh in frustration, shaking my head. "Dammit..! The voice-mail box is full.." I say. "This friend...are they...y'know, like us at least..?" He asks. Hearing this, I debate whether or not to tell him, before I finally sigh, and nod my head. "...yea, that's the problem.." I say, before dialing the number again. "Problem? Why's that a problem, isn't that a good thing..?" He asks cluelessly. I don't answer that. "It...just is, alright? Long story." I say, before hearing the voice-mail again. "Dammit..!" I say quietly, before giving up, and handing him his phone back. "Sorry.." he says ashamed.
Hearing his voice, I sigh, and shake my head. "No, no, it's fine. You didn't know what else to do. It's just...Mystic Falls is crowded enough as it is, two Werewolves living in such a small town is bad enough, add a third, and it could mean trouble for all of us, and the Humans we live around.." I explain. It's not the real reason I don't want her coming, but it is still a valid reason.. "Hey, try not to worry too much. Maybe they're just sleeping. We can try calling again tomorrow." He says. Doubtful...but we really don't have another choice in the matter at the moment.. Hearing this, I sigh, and nod. "Alright...tomorrow then.." I say with a reluctant nod. "Go get some sleep, you're going to need all the rest you can get, for tomorrow night.." I say, plastering a smile on my face. "Yeah...I know.." he says, clearly still worried about his first transformation. Seeing this, I sigh, and place my hands on his shoulders. "Hey, it's gonna be okay. I'll be right there with you, to help you through it." I say. He sighs and nods. "Yeah...thanks Rae.." he says, before slowly trailing out of the room, heading for his own. I watch him go in concern. Tomorrow night...is gonna be challenging for us both.. Sighing, I shake my head, and close my door.
The next day..
As Tyler and I are about to leave the house, to head to the old cells, mom speaks. "Oh, are you two heading out?" Mom asks. This makes Tyler jump, due to all our sketchy gear and supplies he and I both held. I give him a look that pretty much says chill out. Seeing this, he gives a slight nod, before calming down. "Yeah. Her and I decided to grab lunch at the Grill. I've got practice later. Rae wanted to tag along, so we'll probably go out after, maybe catch a movie with some of my friends. We'll be late getting home." Tyler says, right before the doorbell rings, and a familiar scent finds my nose. My brows furrow in confusion. This scent.. I shake my head, not bothering to finish the sentence. No, it can't be. Even if She got the message he sent last night, She's nowhere near us right now...She would've had to leave right after he left the message.. Since Tyler was closest to the door, he walks over, and opens it. However, the moment he opens the door, my eyes widen in shock. In the doorway, stood the very person that I had hoped wouldn't be.
"Ah, Rae, you are here. Seems I was worried over nothing.." the woman before us says with a relieved smile. "Um...Rae..?" Tyler asks, looking to me worriedly, with a questioning expression. I sigh and nod at him in confirmation. Seeing this, his eyes widen, before he sighs in disappointment. "Been a long time...Jules.." I say, reluctantly greeting her. Dammit..
