A few moments later..
While waiting for the couple to awaken, Klaus and I take a walk outside. As we do, his phone rings. Taking it out of his pocket, he checks the caller I.D. "Who is it?" I ask curiously. "Stefan." He says, before answering it. Curious, I listen into the call with my enhanced hearing. "Portland is fantastic, once you get over all the whiny music and healthy looking people. It's literally a breeding ground for Werewolves." Klaus says into the phone. "Your father's dead." Stefan says, completely ignoring what Klaus just told him. Hearing this, Klaus is taken back for a few seconds. But after a moment, he speaks. "What did you just say to me..?" Klaus asks. "Oh, my mistake. Not your actual father, and not dead. Mikael. He's daggered. What do you want me to do with the body?" Stefan asks. Klaus looks to me, before speaking again. "Well, first, I want you to explain to me exactly what happened." Klaus says strictly. "Mikael followed Elena. Tried to grab her, so he could use her as bait. We Vervained him, and in the process discovered that he had one of those bottles with White Oak Ash and a dagger. He planned to use it on Rebekah. Took a while, but we managed get ahold of it. Elena was able to find an opening, and drive it through his heart while we kept him busy." Stefan explains.
Hearing his explanation, Klaus begins to pace back and forth. "I want to see him. I want to see his rotting body for myself." Klaus says. "Well, he's here. Come by whenever." Stefan says. "If you're lying to me, Stefan, your Compulsion will expose you. So answer with your life. Is what you're saying the truth?" Klaus asks. "It's true. I saw it with my own eyes." Stefan replies. "I want to talk to Rebekah." Klaus says. "Well, that's not a problem. She's right here." Stefan says. "Hello, Nik." Rebekah says. "Rebekah, love. What's this I hear about Mikael's tragic run in with a dagger?" Klaus asks. "It's true. He's finally out of our lives for good. I miss you. I'm miserable here." She says. "I'll be home soon." He says. "Good. I'll see you then, brother." Rebekah says. With that, Klaus ends the call, and looks to me. "Looks like you'll get to see your brother sooner, rather than later. Come, lets check on our new friends. We leave tonight." He says, before turning, and walking back inside.
The next night..
After returning to Mystic Falls, Klaus had left for a few hours, before coming back to get me, so we could make our way to the relocated homecoming/wake for Mikael. He didn't say what he did in the time he was gone, but he seemed to be suddenly amused about something. Although it was strange, I don't think anything of it. When we reached the party, Klaus made a speech onstage, before bringing me with him, to meet up with Stefan. "Quite the homecoming." Stefan says, hands in his pockets. "I've been planning my father's funeral for 1000 years. Granted, in no version of it, were any of these people invited, but you get the idea." Klaus says. "So, what now? You stop running?" Stefan asks. Stopping, Klaus smirks. "Now, I reunite my family." Klaus says. "Your family? You mean the people you cart around in caskets?" Stefan asks. "None of that matters anymore. Mikael's gone. Bygones, will be bygones." Klaus says, before noticing a girl with a crown.
