Well, this is weird seeing you outside of the Ranch. I do occasionally leave, she said smirking as she took her seat across from me. If I wanted to get more details on what this man and the ranch was really about, I needed to put some space between myself and it, as not to make him suspicious of what I was really doing at the ranch. I didn't lie to him I am a journalist; I went to school for journalism, and I do work in the industry. I may have misrepresented myself these people though as working for the New York times, when in reality I do contract work for various newspapers in the southeast United States. How I ended up doing this assignment well that's a story for another day. So, what else do you want to know about the ranch? Whatever you are willing to tell me? My willingness is dependent on how you are going to spin this in the media. What do you mean? I mean these women aren't whores as most people like to think they are. They all come from difficult backgrounds and situations, and most were coerced into staying in it. And the others? Some weren't so lucky and then there are the ones that we like to say were born to be in this business. Let's start there then who wasn't lucky enough to leave. Hmph I can't say I know much about why and how Venus left. How? Come on now you've met Nicoli you think he'd willing left one of his girls go. You saying there's more to the story. I am not saying anything, she wasn't the first and probably won't be the last to leave that place. She was, however, the first that people tied Nicoli to. Tied him too? Mr... call me Michael. Ok well Michael my husband is a very complicated man and the things that he does don't always make sense. Interesting I said making a note. Tell me how it is that yall ended up married?
I watched her demeanor as she shifted in her seat as if the question, I just asked her made her unconfutable. I wanted to know because Nicoli's brother alluded to the fact that maybe they weren't married or that there was more to the story than what they were leading everyone to believe. Nicoli and I have an understanding. Understanding as in legally or financially. You're trying to make me be the next one to disappear huh! No, I was just wondering, the way his brother speaks it's as if yall aren't really married. Leo! Leo only knows what Nicoli allows him to know and that's not much. So yall are married, how do you feel about his daughter being in the club. He doesn't know that I know that she's, his daughter. Seriously the girl looks like him and plus she doesn't dance. To be fair neither do I. But you have in the past, I am sure he tried you out first and realized you were more business than pleasure. You men are something always thinking something is about pleasure. Ok set me straight then, what was it about Nicoli that drew you in.
I called her bluff because she knew as well as I did that no woman of her age would willing just come to a place in the dessert and work with a bunch of temperamental women. Especially ones that are fighting for the attention of her husband. I don't fault him though, there was something about her that was different. She wasn't like the other women, and you could tell by how she carried herself when she was in the ranch. I could tell she was very humble and wasn't about the extra stuff. Don't get me wrong she showed her status as the lady of the house, but she wasn't obnoxious with it, she wore a simple single solitaire on her ring finger, unassuming diamond stud earrings, and a butterfly necklace that I am sure her husband didn't gift her with. She also wore modest clothing, Levi Jeans, a white shirt, with a denim jacket. If I didn't know any better, I'd think she worked at the ranch rather own it. I guess that how she kept the peace, women are less likely to attack if you don't have much or something they want. You wouldn't believe me if I told you. Try me. He made me trust him! I peeped his game from the very beginning and please don't think I didn't tell him about his self because I did and even after all of that he still pursued me. He promised me that one day everyone would know my name, she said looking up at me. Do you love him? Love is a very strong word and one that I wouldn't attribute to our relationship. Do I care for him, I'd have to care for him, he's the father of my children? Children! Yall have kids. Had and I don't want to talk about it.
