Phoenix POV:
After Roswell and I ate out snacks, cleaned up his room and got into our night clothes, I video called my parents so not only can Roswell ask whatever questions he wanted too but also so I can speak to them while looking at them. That's the hardest part being at the Academy is not being able to see my parents whenever I want to.
'Roswell you have to promise to take care of my pup'. My dad had said over and over before shifting into my mom. I groaned but smiled at my dad's dramatic antics.
'I will sir, I promise'. Roswell replied every time my dad made him promise to take care of me.
I sat beside Roswell as he spoke to both my dad and father happily before my dad shifted into my mom. The look on his face reminded me of a kid getting the one thing he had asked for, for his birthday and got it.
His eyes were huge, round and gleaming happily as he watched my dad shift. Well kinda watched my dad shift, of course my very overprotective father would not allow anyone other than him watch my dad shift. My father the ever protective mate, stood in front of the screen, blocking Roswell's view of my dad's shift. Roswell heard it and gasped at the loud cracking sound of the bones, but didn't get to see the actual shift. Maybe once we graduate my father will allow Roswell to see the wonderment of my dad's shifting.
'Your father does not like others seeing your dad shift, does he's? Roswell asked me with a hint of amusement in his voice. I smiled and nodded my head, but answered him anyway.
"Yea, my father has no chill when it comes to my dad". "I can't wait to have a mate like that". I told him honestly. In truth I know I already have that with him, but sometimes I feel as though it'll be all taken away from me. I sighed inwardly waiting for my dad, well actually my mom to sit down in front of the screen so Roswell can finally meet my mother.
'Hello Prince Roswell dear, how have you been'? I heard my mother ask Roswell with so much affection in her voice, I'm not sure if they had met before or if she is just being affectionate because he is my mate. I quickly stared at the screen wondering how or more importantly when my mother met my mate. I just sat beside Roswell confused but silent with wild thoughts running through my mind as my mate and my mother talk happily with each other, as if they are old friends catching up.
'Your mother knows everyone, just like our father'. Cypress said. I nodded my head at him agreeing with him. I guess she would know everyone she has been around for a long time, I thought to myself sighing quietly.
'I am good'. 'I wasn't sure who Phoenix mom was and I have been wanting to meet you for so long, but it turns out I have already met you'. 'True it was with your husband Alaric and I was just a barely walking pup'. 'Wow what a small supernatural world we live in'. I heard Roswell tell my mother. I had questions but I couldn't find my voice to ask them.
I think I'm in shock.
Actually I know for a fact that I am in shock.
'Yes it definitely is a small supernatural world'. 'Look at my baby boy, happily with a wonderful mate'. 'And that mate non other than the Prince of the werewolves and my best friends pup'. I heard my mom say happily.
"Best friend"? I heard myself say, not meaning to.
'Yes'. Both my mother and Roswell answered me in unison.
"Wait does that mean, me meeting Roswell was already preplanned"? I asked a little accusingly.
'No'. Both my mother and Roswell answered me in unison again. I sighed I think from relief but honestly I'm not sure.
'Phoenix don't overthink this'. 'You know no matter what, no werewolf would ever go against the Moon Goddesses mate's'. 'And if they did do you think your father would allow interference of true mate's'? My mother said, asking me. I shook my head knowing my father will fight anyone whom tries to get in between true fated mate's. I sighed again this time more audible than the other times.
"I know mom". "I know you're right, it's just weird knowing my mother knew my mate before I did". I told her. Smiling at her.
'Yes I know both of your mate's, but not because I went and found them out'. 'As a matter of fact the Queen Isabel and I only became friends after we met at your father's pack'. My mother said. I nodded at her remembering my dad telling me about the meeting at the packhouse when my siblings were about six months old or so.
After about five hours or so I started feeling my dad's energy draining and as much as I didn't want to break up Roswell's and my mother's conversation I knew if I didn't remind my mother how protective my father is about the health and well being of my dad, my father would forbid my dad from shifting until my mother could prove she is sorry for draining my dad's energy.
I sighed heavily and waited until after Roswell finished what he was saying to my mother, but after about ten minutes I realized Roswell hasn't stopped talking this whole time so I no choice but to but in their conversation. I cleared my throat, but got ignored so I cleared it louder, stopping both my mother and Roswell from saying anything else except for them both asking me if I was okay. I nodded my head.
"Mom as much as I am enjoying this conversation (even though I hardly spoke, I thought to myself) I think it's best if you shift back into dad before my father goes on the war path because dad's energy is draining". I told her softly.
'Oh crap'. 'Has it been that long already'? She explained, asked no one, but I answered her anyway.
"It's been almost six hours mother". I told her. I heard her gasp loudly.
'Your father is going to kill me'. She said dramatically as she began shifting back into my dad.
"Love you mom". I told her before she fully shifted back into my dad.
'Love you too'. I heard her through our link. I smiled happily knowing I caught her just in time to tell me she loved me back.
'Phoenix I don't know how long it'll be before you can see your mother again'. I heard my dad say, as their bedroom door opened roughly, slamming against the wall. I guess my father also felt my dad's energy draining too.
I sighed as quietly as possible in hopes no one heard me.
"It's okay dad". I told him as I watched my father turn off the video chat.
'Your father is no joke'. I heard Roswell say. I nodded agreeing with him.
"Not when it comes to my dad, no he is not". I told him, crawling under the covers, ready for sleep.
Roswell laid his arm over my stomach, tucking me closer to him and wished me good night.
I wished him the same, closing my eyes and welcoming sleep.
