Nezm POV:

After I left my uncle Larry's office I walked around the pack grounds for about an hour or two just to try and figure out a way to talk to Phoenix and also that Roswell wolf, but I came up with seemed good enough.

I sighed, growled and even yelled at the afternoon sky trying to figure out a way to show my mate that I had changed and that I deserved a second chance.

'Second chance my paw'. My wolf growled at me through our link.

I nodded at his statement 'coz he was correct. Even though I technically never asked for a second chance after I messed up, it would actually be more like a thousands chance, that is if Phoenix even deems me worthy.

'Nezm time to eat'. My father link me. I nodded my head even though he couldn't see me and began walking towards the packhouse, but a strong rotten flesh smell invading my nostrils.

'Rogues'. Both my wolf and I said at the same time.

'Father rogues'. Was all I was able to link to my father before my world turn black.

Phoenix POV:

As soon as Roswell and I reached my room I suddenly felt an overwhelming feeling of fear. I couldn't figure out where the fear was coming from, but it was cripplingly strong.

I was frozen in front of my bedroom door unable to move. Everything around seemed to disappear except the fear that ran through me.

A gasp escaped from my lips as soon as I was able to figure out where the feeling of fear was coming from. Without even thinking I ran out of the packhouse as fast as I could only to be stopped by my uncle Jackson once I reached the packhouse forest.

'He will be fine, Phoenix'. My uncle said without looking me in the eyes. He knew that I could sense that what he had told me was not the truth, but instead of yelling at him or invading his mind to read his most recent thoughts I just nodded my head.

'Phoenix'. I heard my dad call my name, but I ignored him. I need to know what is happening to my mate.

Yes my mate.

Even though I am upset, (well pi$$ed off is more like it), with him for the way he has been acting, or well how he used to act, I still do not want anything harmful to happen to him.

I walked past the two guards who was holding Nezm in their arms and what I seen brought me to my knees, my breath hitched and my heart broke.

My mate, my childhood best friend was covered in large gashes and teeth marks all over his body, and his clothes were torn.

My body began to vibrate in anger at the sight of my mate.

I wanted to grab him from the guards and hold him, promising him everything will be ok. That he will be okay, but my body wouldn't move closer to Nezm.

'He will be okay'. 'We got here before the rogues forced marked him'. My uncle Jackson said.

"What do you mean marked"? I asked him angrily. "I have never heard rogues force marking werewolves or other supernatural creatures". I gritted out trying to figure out and understand what exactly happened to Nezm.

'I have never heard of that either, but it does not mean rogues are not capable of doing it'. 'They are after all werewolves'. 'Just without a pack to call home'. My dad said. I nodded my head agreeing with him.

'I actually have heard of it before, but not for a least a century'. My uncle Jackson said. I gasped at what he said.

"What do you mean"? I asked almost in a whispered voice. I wanted to know what he meant, but I was afraid to actually know what he meant. In truth we need to know, because this is one problem that all of the supernatural community needs to be aware about just in case my pack is not the only one the rogues chose to attack.

'About a century ago there was a rogue that forced marked two supernatural creatures'. 'One was a werewolf and the other a witch'. 'Back then the supernatural community that followed his orders referred to him as the Rouge Alpha King'. 'I only discovered about him after he forced marked one of my vampire's'. 'At first I thought maybe he was the mate of the vampire, but shortly after the forced mark's. 'My vampire began to develop an incurable thirst for blood's. 'No matter how much he fed, he was never satisfied'. 'Unfortunately that lead to my coven to reend his life's. 'We searched for the Rogue Alpha King, after my coven and the witch coven ended all the supernatural creatures that were forced marked'. 'We searched for years without finding a single trace of him'. My uncle Jackson explained hanging his head low. I sighed and hugged him.

"This is not your fault". "Let's get Nezm checked out and then notify all the neighboring packs, and all the other supernatural communities about this new threat to our kind". I told him.

"Roswell I need you to contact your parents". "We have a very dangerous situation here that I am sure is not isolated to just my pack". I linked Roswell after realizing he wasn't in the pack forest with me.

'How can you forget about our mate'? My wolf Cypress gritted out but blocked our link before I could respond to him. It's not like I did it intentionally, I had a sudden urge to run, so that's what I did.

'Okay'. I heard Roswell answer me.

"I'll be at the pack hospital for a while if you want to join me". "I need to explain to you what just happened, but I don't want to do it through our link". I told him.

'After I talk to my parents'. He replied. I nodded my head, but stopped after realizing we were linking each other and not talking face to face.

"Okay". I told him and continued to walk towards the pack hospital, followed by my parents and uncle Jackson.

"Please Moon Goddess, take care of my mate". I begged her.
