Phoenix POV:
Roswell and I had breakfast with both his and I's family before my parents left. I noticed my uncle's and Nezm and also Maxwell hadn't joined us for breakfast. I wanted to ask but decided against it and I with the help of my dad I was able to block my thoughts so I couldn't read others thoughts so I didn't know if they had already left or are eating in a different part of the dining area.
I shrugged my shoulders not really worried about it, if their still here I'm sure Roswell and I will run into them eventually before they leave or we won't. I refuse to hunt down my mate or that so called friend of Roswell's.
After saying goodbye to my family, my dad and I unlocked my thoughts and like an unstoppable storm I heard everyone's thoughts flooding back in. I gasped and whimpering from the intrusion.
'Are you okay'? I heard Roswell's muffle. I nodded my head not able to answer him.
'You sure'? He asked this time more clearer from his previous question but I still nodded my head as my answer, pointing to my head. I watched as he nodded his head.
'Phoenix I need to talk to you'. I heard King Kyrie say. I couldn't decipher if it was in my head or not, but I nodded my head anyway and began walking towards the King's office.
Still holding my throbbing head, I knocked on his once I arrived and waited for him to allow me to go inside.
'Come in'. I heard him say, still not sure if it's in my head or not.
'Thank you for coming Phoenix we need to discuss Maxwell'. King Kyrie said and this time I knew for sure it wasn't in my head. I just nodded at his words not saying anything yet.
King Kyrie asked me to take a seat, I nodded my head and found a seat and sighed as the intrusion in my head was finally dissipating. Finally able to hear my own thoughts I slowly raised my head to look at King Kyrie.
I'm hoping he doesn't find my lack of verbal communication rude or disrespectful. I sighed when I noticed the smile on his face. Getting comfortable on the plush chair I waited for the talk.
'Phoenix are you okay'? King Kyrie asked me. I was gonna nod my head but answered him instead.
"Yes, King Kyrie". "My dad helped me block my thoughts while we had breakfast and as he was leaving everyone's thoughts rushed back in like a tsunami". I explained to him my voice cracking just a little from my nervousness. I watched as he nodded his head most likely in understanding.
'Isabel, told me about what happened with Maxwell'. 'And he is being punished for it's. 'But I need you to know he goes to classes here'. King Kyrie said taking a deep breath staring at me, most likely waiting for any response from me, I just nodded in understanding. I already knew he went to school here, not because anyone had said anything but because he let me know through his heavily opened thoughts.
'I know it'll be hard on you for a while, but I want you to know Roswell has only ever wanted his mate and no one else'. 'No matter how much Maxwell wishes he could have Roswell, Roswell swore he would only ever be with his mate'. 'And over the years I have watched both he-wolves and she-wolves try to get close to him'. King Kyrie explained. I smiled knowing this about my mate.
'I just wanted you to know'. 'And also explain why Maxwell is still around'. 'But I do want you to know Isabel and I had already spoken to both Maxwell and his parents warning them if he tried anything further he would be removed from the Academy immediately'. King Kyrie explained.
"Thank you King Kyrie, to both you and Queen Isabel". "I know I'm a little younger than Roswell, but I promise to cherish him to my last breath". I told him, standing from my chair and reaching out my hand for a hand shake. My father once told me to show respect after a conversation you always shake the wolf's hand.
King Kyrie shook my hand and thanked me for forgiving his son. I smiled and walked out of his office feeling light and happy.
'You okay'. I heard Roswell say behind me. I turned wrapped my arms around him and kissed him on his lips lightly.
"Yes". I told him sliding my arms down his long arms interlocking our fingers together.
'What did my dad want'? Roswell asked his voice quivering a little. I just smiled not saying anything. I wanted to see how long it'll take before he begs me to answer him.
We walked hand in hand towards the rec room, him asking me over and over again about what his dad said to me and me ignoring him.
'Please Phoenix'. I heard him beg in my mind. I stopped and stared at him. Roswell looked lost and I knew I needed to tell him before he thinks the worst.
"Your dad just let me know that Maxwell goes to school here". "And also that he had a talk with both Maxwell and his parents". I told him wrapping him in my arms. It's funny at just sixteen I'm almost as tall as both my parents, and Roswell at nineteen fit's perfectly in my arms.
'Are you mad I didn't tell you'? Roswell asked me bringing me out of my thoughts. I shook my head no, but also decided to answer him.
"No". "I figured you would tell me eventually". I told him, squeezing him tightly.
'Thank the Moon Goddess'. He said so softly I was probably not supposed to hear it. I chuckled interlocking our fingers again and walked hand in hand into the rec room.
"You want play a game or just watch me play"? I asked him teasingly.
'You are acting differently'. He said. 'Are you sure your okay'? He asked me.
"I'm fine Roswell". "Cypress just wants to spend time with his mate before classes start tomorrow and so do I". I explained to him.
'So do I'. He said wrapping his arms around me, kissing the back of my neck, causing Cypress to howl happily.
'Midnight does too'. He said.
"Let's play". I said.
