"So, we have the evidence we need." Daemon said in High Valyrian, furious and grieving.
They all were, just six moons after Laenor Velaryon's death.
The Blacks were sprawled across the family living room. Letters were scattered around, each one containing the damming evidence.
Of how the magic hating group of Maesters hadn't properly healed Princess Daella and Alyssa Targaryen, killed Princes Gaemon, Aegon, and Valerion in their infancy, had killed all of Maegor's babes, and gave Ceryse Hightower moon tea during each of her pregnancies.
They had almost killed Princess Gael, but she had been watched over by Septa Lyra every single minute of her infancy, so she had survived. These Maesters had killed Jaehaerys and Alysanne's first child, Prince Aegon, as well.
They had killed Aemma Arryn, had smothered Prince Baelon with a pillow to kill him. They had killed the Spring Prince, not properly healing him.
They had been able to poison Laena Velaryon by bribing the apprentice healer (and oh how Daemon had screamed, how Baela and Rhaena had cried) and informed the Myrish pirates were Prince Aemon Targaryen would be.
Rhaenys had stopped sobbing, but the tears were pouring down her face as Corlys held her close.
That arrow hadn't missed Cameron Tarth.
It had been aimed for her father all along.
The Maesters had killed her two children as well, taken her beloved children form their parents, their spouses, their children, robbed Laenor and Laena the chance to see their grandchildren.
"We have a problem: Grandfather." Lucerys said hesitantly in High Valyrian. "Ser Bullshit is still Hand of the King and obviously in on this. He can deny it and destroy the evidence."
"We have to wait until Grandfather dies." Daenaera agreed. "And before you say anything, mother, Grandfather is very well practiced to closing his eyes at what he doesn't want to see."
Rhaenyra nodded, to upset over the evidence to talk. These Maesters had taken her mother, robbed her of her little brother, murdered her husband.
Joffrey Velaryon was only six. He wouldn't have the clearer memories of Laenor that Daenaera, Jacaerys, and Lucerys had.
She and Laenor never romantically loved each other, but they were best friends and confidants, never letting anything stop them from raising their children.
That is today's chapter. I hope you all enjoyed it.
