Chapter 38
Distance
I walked gracefully as I was wearing a maroon stylist's long dress. I was the center of their attention now. I held my purse tightly as I walked like a queen on the red carpet.
I saw Paul put down his wine while his girl looked at me. I smiled sweetly as I displayed my Gibi red high heels in the highchair.
"Miss Calla. Wow! Your never old in fashion," the woman said.
"Well, yes, I am not old in fashion, but please don't make me understand that old fashion is not trending now. Well, it depended on the person to see if she was suitable for that. Excuse me, po, and have a nice day."
I left her while walking through the counter, which had lots of food.
Not rejoining that kid huh?
Nakasilip ako kina Paul. Naabutan ko siyang may binubulong sa bata. Tinaasan ko siya ng kilay.
Really? That kid? Papatulan niya? Kapatid 'yan ng fiancée niya.
Naglakas-loob akong sulungin sila.
"See you around, Kayla," he said strictly but sweetly.
Her thin eyebrow meets halfway, and her round face makes its way to Paul, trying to question it all. The lights eliminated her black, wavy hair as her black eyes became darker. She sighed as her full lips stretched to give me a quick smile as her turned-up nose moved.
Paul likes a girl who loves wearing a black knit midi dress paired with a black peep toe. But as soon as I noticed Paul wearing black sleeves and slacks, Kayla chuckled.
"Ate, wala akong Ate. Kuya siguro." Ayaw niya pa ring tumigil.
"HUwag ka ng mag-maang-maangan, Kayla."
"Calla, please stop. Kayla you may go," Paul said.
"No! I just stay here a little longer, Kuya.
"Calla, I think you forgot about my sister," Paul interrupted my mind.
BInawi ko ang sarili. Kumunot ang noo ko.
"It is me or Charlotte?"
"I'm sorry if I didn't inform you, then."
The bartender gave me a glass of water that I drink right away.
