Regulus takes his clothes up from the ground and gets dressed. The other boy watches him from the bed, still naked.

"You're as good as everyone says," he says with a smirk.

Regulus grimaces. His sentence leaves him with a feeling of dissatisfaction and distaste.

"I've told you it would come back to bite you in the arse," Dorcas says, picking pasta from his plate.

"If Potter is fuelling all these rumours, he's a wanker and you're better off without him," Barty says. He grabs Evan's glass to drink from his pumpkin juice.

"He wouldn't do that," Regulus mumbles.

"Did you talk to him?" Dorcas asks, "Since the thing in the classroom."

"No. And I don't plan to."

"What if," Evan steals a chip from Barty's plate, who slaps his hand in response, "You just tell him you're head over heels in love with him and see what happens?"

"Yeah, I'd rather die. Thanks."

"He's got a point. You said that James said, he wanted you. You want him, too. If you start dating him, the rumours will stop."

"They won't. Can you imagine what happens if I, the snake slut, take their perfect head boy off the market? I'd be dead within a week. Besides, James doesn't know what he wants. He only had me so far, of course he still wants me."

Barty hums, "Ah, yes, the first. The first one will always be special but just because it was great doesn't mean you're meant to be together. Regulus and I will always have a special place in each other's hearts, you don't think we should date again because of that, do you?"

"No," Evan says with a smirk and steals another chip.

Regulus pushes his plate to Dorcas. "I'm not hungry. I go back to the dorm, see you later."
