"what?" swiss asked.

"think about it—his summoning process started around that time, he literally used his element for his name, and whenever we used to ask about his life before and what his name was, he always said he couldn't remember." rain explained. "but that can't be possible because they never summon ghouls with no memory of their past life. so, therefore, the clergy knows aether's human—or angel—name, and knows everything about his past." rain waved his hands around, taking a deep breath once he finished speaking.

mountain smiled, looking back at you as swiss just stared at rain.

"why is this important?" swiss asked. rain groaned.

"satan, because aether and y/n know each other! if we can get him to realize it's y/n—his y/n—then maybe it can trigger whatever happened with him in her!" rain smiled.

"you want y/n to become a ghoul?" mountain asked, talking like you weren't right there in front of them. "seriously?" swiss asked.

"it'll make her living here a hell of a lot easier for her. she won't get looks from other ghouls, she won't get shunned." rain said. "if they don't find out." swiss pointed out. "which they won't." rain stated.

"do i get a say in this?" you asked. mountain looked over at you.

"of course you do. we wouldn't force you to do anything. but until we know if aether realizing it's you will definitely cause the transition," mountain looked over at swiss and rain. "should we wait to point it out to him?" mountain asked. rain hummed, looking at swiss.

"why are you leaving it up to me??" swiss asked. "you found her." mountain said. "yeah, for all we know, if she messes anything up, imperator might punish you for it." rain stated, shrugging.

swiss looked at you, a worried glint in his eyes.

"so, would i lose my wings if i transitioned into a ghoul?" you asked rain as you searched the library with him. "i doubt it," rain shrugged, opening a book.

it was late. rain had to steal a key from one of the ghouls that worked in the library so he could sneak you in.

it hadn't even been a month and the sneaking around was already getting tiring.

"once we find the book it should tell us everything," rain whispered, looking through the table of contents.

"this book?" you asked. rain looked up, seeing you struggling to hold a big red book with the word 'GHOULS' scrawled across the front cover.

rain chuckled, sliding the book he was holding back into the shelf.

"that's the one." he grinned, easily taking the book from you and walking to a table. you followed, the bottom of your wings dragging along the floor.

"but rithin—er.. aether had wings in heaven." you pointed out. "and from the sound of it, he died and went to hell. he wasn't just a fallen." rain glanced at you, opening the book and turning it to the summoning section.
