Another Mundane

Izzy laughed at her sister "no it's not dead, and 'it' is a she, Jace brought her back after she was attacked by a demon." Izzy explained, Alec's going to be annoyed, Eva thought as she looked at the mundane, maybe I should go tell him... she thought. "Hey where's Bob?" Izzy asked noticing her little sister didn't have the Elephant that was always attached to her hip, Eva gasped and looked around "I LEFT BOB BEHIND!!!! NOOOO!" She screamed running from the room, she could hear Izzy laughing behind her as she frantically left the room and was now bolting as fast as she could around the institute looking for Bob, she heard someone call her name and she stopped and turned around to see Hodge holding Bob, she ran over as quickly as her little legs allowed "Bob!" She shouted and took him from Hodge "oh I'm so sorry Bob! I'll never leave you behind again, I promise!" She said before squeezing him to her chest she then hugged Hodges legs "thank you for looking about Bob for me Hodge." She said and he patted her head "it's fine but next time be careful where you leave him." He told her and she nodded before walking off happy as could be that she had her elephant back. She was talking to Bob about what had happened since she had left him "so I walked into the infirmary right and on the bed was a weird orange haired woman." She imagined Bob reply to her "that's crazy! And she had orange hair?!" Eva nodded "yeah bright orange hair! I walked up to her and poked her because I thought she was dead." She said to Bob as she held him in front of her as she spoke to him "was she dead?" He asked her and she shook her head "Izzy said she wasn't dead, then she was the one that noticed that I didn't have you with me," Eva explained and Bob nodded at her "well I'm glad that Izzy told you I was missing, it was really scary without you but luckily Hodge found me and kept me safe until he could give me back to you!" Bob said and Eva smiled and nodded "Hodge is the best!" She said before she held Bob at her side as she skipped through the institute, she wasn't paying attention to much around her and didn't notice the hands moving to under her arms to lift her off of the ground, she squealed as he was scooped up into someone's arms until she heard the familiar laugh of her oldest brother "Alec! That's not funny!" She squeaked and it made him laugh even more "you were in your thoughts a little too much, skipping around in a world of your own." He said before repositioning her to lie on his chest, she held Bob against his shoulder "so what mischief have you been causing." He asked her and she shook her head "nothin! I swear, I walked to the infirmary when I heard you guys got back to make sure none of you were hurt then I saw Izzy sitting beside the orange haired mundane, I thought she was dead so I went up to her and poked her then Izzy said.." she was cut off by Alec "okay I got it... what is there a mundane doing in the institute though?" He asked out loud not expecting an answer as he began carrying her to the infirmary to see if what she was saying was true "that's what I was thinking because you told me that mundanes weren't allowed inside the institute, you said it was against the rules." Eva said remembering when Alec had told her the rules about the institute and what was and wasn't allowed, "it is against the rules, well done for remembering." He said kissing her forehead as they entered the infirmary, Jace was walking in the same time as them and Alec agreed with Eva's thoughts about the girl being a mundane.

"A mundane shouldn't even be here." Alec said annoyed as he glared at the red head, whilst Eva was shaking Bob not violently but quite forcefully making his big elephant ears flap up and down, it was making her giggle, Jace smiled at her giggling away. "Where is "here" exactly?" The girl asked looking at the three people and the child in front of her "She's not a mundane, Alec." Jace said and Eva stopped shaking Bob to tilt her head at Jace "she sure does look like one." Eva said as she looked the girl up and down "How do you know that?" Alec asked directing his question at Jace, "Because the seraph blade lit up when she touched it. Look, Isabelle, can you..." he drifted off gesturing for Izzy to give the girl some space "I'm Jace Wayland." He said to her and she smiled at him, Eva rolled her eyes, not another one she thought, when Eva has been staying in the institute people sometimes were only being nice to her to try and get attention from her siblings then when they never received it would just stop going near Eva, "I'm, uh—" she was cut off by Jace who spoke with a smile "Clary Fray, we know who you are." He nodded at the end "Am I the only one who finds this unusual?" Eva shook her head at Alec's question "no it is really weird, where do people with orange hair come from?" She asked making Jace laugh, "You find everything unusual, Alec. And there happen to be a lot of people with orange hair in the world." Jace said looking at Eva who was in Alec's arms "wow, did you hear that Bob?" She asked "yeah I did. How cool." She nodded and looked back at Jace and Clary, she thought the name was a bit weird but who was she to judge with a name like Evangeline. "I have to report this to the Clave." Alec said as he moved closer to Jace, Clary and Izzy. "You know what? Dial it down a notch." Jace said with a sigh and Izzy raised an eyebrow, "My brother doesn't have a dial. I love you, Alec, but you have a switch that's always on." Izzy said to him with a smile. "I love you, too. But this.." he was cut off by both Jace and Eva, Eva shouted out "and I love you two too, hehehe tutu." She said with a small laugh at the end and Jace had said "Hey, you know what? Give me a minute. Here's a word you never hear me say. Please?" Eva raised her eyebrow as Alec piped in "What is with you? Really, no, what is with him?" He said as Izzy got up and put her hand on one of his arms going to lead him out "Walk with me, big brother." She said as she lead them out of the room, Eva finally decided to share her thoughts, "Jace does say please. When I wanted to make him a princess the other week, he let me and then he said to me please don't tell Alec." That made Alec laugh "oh I'm never letting him live that down." Alec said and Izzy hit his shoulder whilst she also tried to hold in a laugh. "But about Jace, I'll explain it to you." She said getting serious, Alec's annoyance came back "We don't know this girl. There's no such thing as new Shadowhunters." He said, Eva nodded because Alec was making more sense than Izzy and Jace. and Izzy sighed "There is now." She said shrugging. Alec wasn't accepting that as an answer "You don't find that strange?" He said to Izzy and she turned to face him "What I find strange is that you're so upset. Maybe you're upset by the way Jace is looking at her. You know, you should be happy that Jace is interested in someone other than himself." Eva didn't understand what Izzy was trying to say, but she knew it was upsetting Alec regardless. "Maybe I'm pissed that she's ruined the mission. We never found out who's buying the blood. That was our one job." Eva put her arms around Alec's neck to hug him and try and make him feel better, he smiled and kissed her hair in thanks, before he carried her away down the corridor.
