Eva had been dragged by the man she now knows as Victor Aldertree all the way to the silent city and she had been shaking the whole time from the cold, as she was still in a partially dry onesie that was missing a leg and she had just been healed from having a cold and not all side had faded yet just like her broken leg she could still feel a faint sting in her leg but it was bearable and the flower in her hair was letting out magic to heal her fully so it was also trying to keep her cage as she is taken down to the cells alongside Jace and Jace is thrown into the cell with Eva being flung on top of him and he only just manages to catch her before she hits the stone ground "Hey! Careful she's a kid!" Jace shouts at Aldertree who smirks and closes the cell "I don't understand! Why are we here! We're not bad!" Eva cries, she always had a fear of the silent city and Jace sighs groaning as he sits up and he pulls Eva to sit in his lap as he sits on the ground and she cuddles up to his chest and he puts his arm around her and rubs her back and he holds Bob extremely tightly "I'm scared." She whimpers and he shushed her "shhh, it's gonna be okay, you haven't done anything, you've been a good girl, okay? They just want to ask you some questions." Jace tells her trying to comfort her but it just makes her cry more and he feels bad, eventually she cries herself to sleep and Jace slightly adjusts her as he leans against the wall falling asleep himself and he is woken when he hears a familiar voice "Jace." It's clary and he quickly looks over "You shouldn't have come here. Take her out." He says to Brother Enoch who brought her down and his voice wakes up Eva who realises where they are and begins to cry again "No. I'm not going anywhere, unless I know you're gonna be okay, they can't keep you both here!" Clary says looking at Jace who is cradling Eva like a small baby as he comes up to the bars "Is Alec safe? Is he all right?" Jace asks and Eva looks up at Clary before whimpering when she sees Brother Enoch's face and Jace holds her as close as he can kissing her head "He's fine. Jace, I feel terrible. You're here because of me. If I hadn't fallen under Dot's spell... and Eva shouldn't even be here she never done anything for him, she was kidnapped." Clary says guilty and Jace shakes his head "You're not what put me here, Clary. I have to pay for my actions. And for Eva... I'm gonna fight for her to be out of here as quickly as possible ." He tells the red head as Eva continues to cry out of fear and Clary genuinely feels bad for the little girl and she looks at Jace "Not by yourself. What can I do to help? Please, tell me. I will do anything." She says and Jace makes a decision and he looks up at Clary "You can stay away from us." Jace says and moves his hand from Eva's back to the back of Eva's head "What?" Clary says shocked "No matter what happens, never come near me again." Jace says and Clary shakes her head "Jace, what are you talking about? You're my family." She says and Jace looks at her and scoffs "I am Valentine's weapon. And he believes Eva is the way to bring the Downworld down, You think he's just gonna let us go? He knows that you... You're my weakness. If I ever get out of here, he'll come after you again." Jace tells her "Let him. I'm not afraid. We'll fight him off together." Clary says and Jace shakes his head "There is no together for you and me, Clary. There never can be." He says and Clary looks hurt and Eva nuzzles closer to Jace and he smooths his hand over Eva's hair "Jace..." clary says heart broken and he looks up at her "We're done here." He says and Brother Enoch begins to take her away "A silent brother will be down for her soon, Jonathan, and then her interrogation shall commence." Brother Enoch said pulling Clary away as she called out for them "No. Jace! Eva! please, don't do this. Jace!" She called out and Eva kept crying "Bye, Clary." Jace said and she kept shouting "No, Jace. No! Jace!" She calls out and Jace disappears into the shadows of the cell again cradling Eva in his lap again as he leans against the wall and then his cell opens and a silent brother appears "hello Jace Wayland, Evangeline Lightwood, I have been sent by the brothers to conduct Evangeline's interrogation as they believe she will be more comfortable with me due to my physical appearance not being as well alarming as my brothers', Evangeline if you would like to come with me." Eva looked up at the sound and saw a silent brother but he never had the stitches on his mouth or eyes and he had a smile on his face "I promise I don't bit." She heard his voice but noticed his mouth didn't move so she slowly after looking at Jace who nodded made her way over to the silent brother, still wobbling a little from her sore leg "good girl let's go." He says turning to walk away and Eva whimpered not liking having to walk for a while so the silent brother turned around and picked her up and she squeaked and held onto his robes tightly in her hand "it's alright I shall not drop you." She heard his voice and she nodded "who are you?" She asks quietly holding Bob up at her with one hand whilst she held onto the silent brother with the other "I'm Brother Zachariah you can call me zach if you wish." She nodded her head "you can call me Eva, I don't like Evangeline only mommy and daddy call me that and that's usually only when they're cross." Eva explains and he nods as he carries her to a room.
