Clary and Jace enter the institute and go to Alec's office with Eva as Izzy goes to the Ops centre and just as they get there Max walks out of the room and he waves up to Eva who's in Jace's arms hugging Bob tight and she is still shaken up from her talk with Ithuriel and no one had found out what he told her or apologised to her for. "Any sign of Jonathan?" Alec asked and he saw that something was wrong with Eva but he wasn't sure what "No, we tracked the box itself, but it was a dead end." Jace says and Eva remembers all about the box that was Clary's only thing she had from her brother, Max stands by the door and listens to the conversation and also trying to check on his sister but he notices that Alec gives him a look so Max sighs and now he really leaves "So Valentine sent Duncan to steal a pair of baby booties?" Alec asks confused and Jace shrugs as he repositions how he is holding Eva "Someone did. Someone who wanted to circumvent us from tracking Jonathan." Jace says and Clary nods her head with a sigh "And now we have no leads on either of them. We've got nothing." She says and Alec is silent for a minute before he looks up at Clary "Actually, we have less than nothing. There's something you should know... The Clave doesn't have the Soul-Sword. They never did." He says and that grasps some of Eva's attention and she looks round at Alec "So the Clave has been lying this entire time?" Clary says and Eva can't believe this... well she can because the Clave always lie so they don't look bad but this takes it to another level of lying "Wouldn't be the first time." Jace says annoyed and Alec looks at his parabatai "The Clave is trying to prevent an uprising. If the Downworld finds out that we don't have the Soul-Sword, there'll be total chaos." He says and Eva shakes her head "and it would be justified! This is people's lives that are at risk, that's what the Clave don't seem to understand! If the Clave are so calm and comfortable with risking so many people's life just for their own reputation then maybe that's the problem, instead of trying to find Valentine like everyone else, they're only trying to protect themselves and that's what will cause and uprising the fact that they care so little for the people they claim they are also looking out for." Eva says angrily to her brother and Clary looks at the little girl "But the Sword's been deactivated. It can't be used on Downworlders right?" She asks and Alec sighs and looks at the red head "Not in the way Valentine used it before, but it's still a Mortal Instrument." Alec says and Eva looks at Clary "If you combine it with the other two Mortal Instruments, the Cup and the Mirror, he could use it to raise the Angel Raziel." Eva tells her, it was a legend that Eva loved to learn about, the Angel Raziel and the first shadow hunters "I thought it was just a legend." Clary says and Alec shakes his head "All the legends are true. The Angel will grant him one wish. Anything he wants." Alec says and Eva had an idea and she looked down at Bob who had been silently watching her the whole time "The end of the Downworld as we know it." Clary says and Eva gets a look on her face and Eva gets a look on her face that makes Bob shake his head "Eva... No whatever your planning stop it." He says and everyone looks at the four year old "I won't let Valentine destroy the down world, you heard Ithuriel, you know what has to happen." She says and Bob shakes his head "No! It can't." He says shaking his head making his ears flap and Jace realised that he sounded upset "what can't happen? What did Ithuriel tell you both? Eva what's wrong? You were so scared when we found you? What was he apologising for?" Jace asks and Eva shakes her head "I can't tell you, and Bob's not allowed to." Eva says and Jace looks at her "Eva... if your getting involved in something dangerous..." Jace says but Eva shakes her head "No." is all she says and Jace sighs and Alec stands up from his desk "Eva... could I speak with you?" Alec asks and Jace puts Eva down and she looks up at Alec "okay Alec." She says and Jace and Clary nod and leave the room. Alec sits back down and points to the seat across from him and Eva sits Bob on the chair before climbing up onto the chair beside him and Alec holds his hands on top of the table as he looks at Eva "we have to talk about your behaviour." Alec says and Eva's jaw drops and so does Bobs "what?!" She yells and Alec sighs "you do not hit people! You do not swear! And you do not ever act like that again with me, and then! You run off to Lake Lyn with Clary and Jace?!" Alec scolds her and she shakes her head "HE DESERVED IT! HE HURT MOMMY!" She shouts at him talking about her father who she now didn't like and it was visually evident that Alec was losing his temper "Your acting like a child grow up!" He shouts at her she stands up on her chair "IM FOUR! OF COURSE I ACT LIKE A CHILD!" She screams and Alec jumps out his chair and screams at her "DO NOT SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT EVANGELINE ROSA LIGHTWOOD! YOUR ACTING LIKE A BRAT! IF YOU EVER SPEAK TO ME LIKE THAT AGAIN..." he screams as he walks around his desk before he stops seeing the fear in her eyes as he got close to her and he realise that she was afraid of him, she lifted Bob and jumped off the chair and turned to Alec "I HATE YOU! YOUR THE WORST BROTHER IN THE WORLD!" She shouts as tears run down her face and Alec's expression changes to complete fury "I HATE YOU RIGHT BACK YOU LITTLE SHIT! EVERYTHING I'VE DONE IN MY LIFE WAS FOR YOU! I DIDN'T ASK TO BE GIVEN A TWO MONTH OLD BABY TO RAISE BUT LOOKS LIKE I GOT STUCK WITH YOU! I'VE DONE EVERYTHING FOR YOU AND THIS IS HOW YOU REPAY ME! YOU'VE DONE NOTHING BUT BE A BURDEN TO MY LIFE! IF I'M SO HORRIBLE THEN GO BEAT IT! SEE IF I CARE!" He screams at her and she drops Bob in shock before she begins running towards the door and opens it running down the hallway as Bob and Alec calls after her, she can't tell if Alec's shouting after her in anger or fear but she kept running and running away from her big brother until she crashed into something "hey what the- Eva? Hey hey what happened?" Jace asks picking her up and she just sobbed into Jace's shoulder, the most gut wrenching heart breaking noises and Jace could tell something bad gone down between her and Alec, he had felt Anger, Sadness and then heartbreak through the parabatai bond before it went back to anger and now Eva was crying... he wondered what Alec had done now, "Eva? What happened with Alec?" Clary asks gently and Eva cries shaking her head and she looks up at her brother "he d-doesn't w-wa-want me anymore!!!" She sobs out and Jace looks shocked then he looks furious before he calms himself down "okay... we're not going to talk to Alec for a few hours, your gonna come with me and Clary okay?" Jace says bouncing her and holding her close as Bob comes bouncing around the corner as quickly as a stuffed elephant can run before he runs up to Clary and Jace panting out of breath and Clary bends down to pick him up and he falls limp in Clary's arms "and where have you been?" Jace asks and Bob toots angrily through his trunk "giving your parabatai a piece of my mind." The elephant says angrily and a guard comes around the corner and stares at the four of them "what are you staring at punk?" Bob says still angry but the word 'punk' comes out more as an angry toot more than anything else and it makes Clary and Jace have to hide their smiles as Eva just kept crying into Jace's shoulder "a warlocks here to see you." He says to Clary who looks confused but follows him round until Clary and Jace see who it is and run over to Dot "Dot, are you okay?" Clary asks and Jace looks at the guard "Give us a minute." He says and the guard nods and walks away "I didn't know where else to go. I didn't know who to trust, so I came straight here." Dot says and Clary nods "Okay, what's wrong?" She asks and Dot looks really worried "Have you heard from Elliot?" She asks Clary as Jace shushed and bounced Eva "c'mon Eva stop crying, it'll make you sick." Jace says as a Clary keeps talking to Dot "Noooo... I need my Alec but I said... I-I hated him and that he... he was the worst big brother!" Eva sobs and that makes Jace understand why he felt the heartbreak from his parabatai rune "now who's gonna read me stories? And let me sneak into their bed? Whose going to help me have a bath? Or do my hair! Or make sure that there is no demons under my bed or in the closet!" Eva lists off and Jace sighs "I can read you a book." He says and Eva sniffles and wipes her eyes looking up at him "you can't read." She says dead serious and he rolls his eyes "I can read why do you think I can't read!" He says annoyed and she gives him a look "because you lied about your book club! So you must not be able to read." She says that and Jace blushed "how about we don't mention book club anymore?" He says and Eva looks confused before he looks over at dot and Clary as Dot shows Clary a mark on her wrist and it gains Jace's attention and he walks over and takes hold of Dot's wrist to look at the mark that Clary and Bob had been looking at.
